Original Starting post for this thread:
We're getting a bit freaked out by so many people exposing themselves to dangerous sex practices. We were invited to a bareback group and accepted to see who was a member. We suspect there are others like us who are "members" that are monitoring these other swingers. (We actually personally know one other couple who is doing the same thing we are). When we check out the certifications of those who are self proclaimed barebackers we leave a note on each of their profiles in "note" section saying "bareback known -exposed etc. When you check out those people's certifications then their friends certifications then theirs.... and so on and so on like in that hair care commercial.... the list of possible disease exposure is STAGGERING! We're having a VERY hard time keeping up and leaving notes on all!

We wonder just how many people think like we do and are checking certifications and who they've been certified by!

Rremm

Well, you can consider the media alarmist if you wish. I think the issue is understated based on the actual statistics which, in my view, are scary as hell and good reason to put up with condoms. Here is a snapshot from a recent one month tally as published in the Epi-log, an epidemiological monthly of the King County health department here in Washington. Keep in mind these are local figures of newly reported cases for one month in Seattle King County Metro region (population about 2 million): Chlamydia 462 Gonorrhea 135 Hep B (acute) 1 Hep C (Acute) 4 Genital Herpes 43 HIV and Aids (not previously reported as HIV) 13 Early Syphilis 19 (non congenital)

They also report dozens of other diseases from measles to pertussis so some of the above may be contracted from IV drug abuse (Hep, HIV) but, trust me, yeast infections are not among the reported diseases.

The incidence of chlamydia is plenty to give me pause as it is considered an indicator of the level of unprotected sex and tends to mirror the incidence of the more serious STDs.

Make of it what you will but statistics don't lie. Google it.

I have found this back-n-forth interesting. However, it brings me to just one conclusion. Hubby and I do play safe, we have it's in our profile. Even though the risks may be lower than the media wants us to believd, there is still a risk. So, whenever we plan to meet we always emphasize that we play safe - no surprises. If someone isn't ok with it, that is their choice. That is the ultimate conclusion. We all have to make our own choices and live with the consequences.

P.S. I love being filled with cum, and hubby is always happy to oblige me.

Just cause you join a group doesn't mean you participate. I actually belong to tons of groups on here and have never participated in there practices or parties. I belong to some of them to discuss with other members my fantasies. I actually have only met with couples and safe play only. But do enjoy talking to people from all backgrounds. Just cause some people enjoy Bare play doesn't mean their nasty. He'll maybe their more selective

rremm great post, we have been playing with others for 4 years, we don't just jump into bed with anyone, we always play bare and are just fine. We do know and understand we can pick up STD by playing with the wrong people. We play bare and so do many others with no problems.

Being that one of use works in the medical industry we know a fair amount about this topic, in fact I have training each month on the statistics of All STD's and quite frankly it is so way blown out of proportion by the media and cdc it's pathetic.

Did you know out of the 40 million STD cases a year they include yeast infections and vaginosis (fish puss) and they used both the amount of over the counter meds sold and doctor reports to pump up the statistics to make it sound like a lot more than there actually is.

When someone says STD, we all know what comes to mind the bad ones which actually only account for a little more than 1/3 of the totally reported cases, so the big scary 40 million cases is actually only about 15 million and out of those 63% are IV and other drug users that puts cases that you and I need to worry about down to 5.5 million, now out of that 5.5 million we have 27% are between ages 15 and 27 and single, so if you are playing with couples over 30 you can now knock that down to 4 million case of couples being infected with an STD.

In that 4 million group there are gay / lesbian and straight couples, we can reduce that 4 mill by 1.9 million to remove gays and lesbians out of the mix. We are now down to 2.1 million for MF couples, statistically there is NO DATA about SWINGERS in that 2.1 Million. However, there is a further brake down with finance, race and region. i.e. that 2.1 million is for the whole United States so it's couples spread across all the states.

We know that 23% is below poverty line and another 47% above the poverty line is cheating spouses i.e. bad marriages, another 8% contracted through medical procedures. You can do the math from there, basically you have a better chance of hitting the lottery and on the same day being hit by lightening ;-).

Keep in mind the MEDIA want to keep you scared so you will buy products that make you feel better. Example the news just this morning was talking about a small up tick in std's and guess what followed that segment, you guess it a commercial for Monostat, Yes Yeast Infections are considered and counted as an STD....LOL.....so don't let your self be used by propaganda do the math your self you will find you are actually much safer than you think

Sigh, I thought Seduction actually had backbone. It's obvious Seduction is intelligent, so I'm surprised and saddened at this dance away from explaining that post.
