Krugman is laying a lot on the line with such a piece. If Romney wins and a depression does not come to pass, this would hurt his credibility a lot.

I look at it like this.
If we vote republicans into office, then we will get what we vote for. If these republicans fuck things up (as I expect him to) then the people become more desperate. After WWII the majority of Europe became desperate, they embraced different levels of socialism. Although we will not be ruined by war, economic ruin is just as devastating and we can become just as likely to support socialism for the people, not businesses alone. |

Liberals believe whatever their God tells them. But Romney has said nothing about cutting taxes to the rich.
But just food for thought, Obama has been in office almost 4 years. Two years with complete control, why didn't he raise taxes higher then? |
