You are 24 hours behind on your information..... FEMA is there now in force, is letting contracts for cleanup and residents are doing much better.

I have relatives on the other side of the Island there.....

Muir - I read that story on UPI but the article has been updated to make note that it wasn't a union card thing but indeed a trade licensing issue.

Seduction - re-read my post - "we can't say that recovery is going so well". There are gaps/failures/problems in the recovery efforts. Note to self - never use double negative grammar.....

I think this will be my last visit to the fora today, for several reasons:

1. My cold is gone. We have some trailerwork to do before we have some friends over to get our freak on. (I would say housework, but when you live in a trailer...)

2. I feel pretty good and I don't need to be depressed anymore.

3. There is no chance whatsoever that I will again today read anything as amusing as Robert's last post. Is there anything more priceless than him lecturing everyone on "life experience" and telling us that all we do is sit in our trailers and bitch?

To the construction aspect of NYC.

If I had the money to buy property in these ruined areas, it would quickly become profitable to flip these homes. What was once a million dollar property is now 1-2 hundred thousand. Clear the mess, rebuild the homes and sell them for more than they were worth before.

Now I will state that a levee system needs to be built around NYC. Or this will happen again and the above idea is garbage as every two to three years another flood will occur.
