However, the documents, duty rosters, sick call reports and hospital injury reports produced by the Swift Boat Veterans, through the Freedom of Information Act, contradict almost everything Kerry claims. Plus Kerry, STILL TO THIS DAY, refuses to sign a DD form 200, release of his military records which would clear up much of these disputes.

Sadly, this was true, because it wasn't until the election was pretty much done before the media did investigative reports which debunked most of the BS that the swiftboat vets threw against the wall. As for Soros - the Republicans have a dozen or more George Soros's funding various attack media. That's why they're "vast".

" Funny enough, in the 2+ years since the TANG story, I've received not ONE e-mail talking about the contents of the story from my liberal friends. Evidence debunked, evidence dead. As for the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy - that's a matter of opinion. I see the actions of people like the Kochs, the Mellon-Scaifes, Bob Perry from Houston, who continuously throw huge sums of money at attempts to fabricate information on Democrats (eg - Perry paid for the Swift Boat lies to be published, Scaife paid Arkansas State Troopers to provide interviews to a reporter who was working for him - without telling the reporter the interviewees were being paid) as representing exactly that. It's a matter of (stupid) opinion when I hear some right winger alleging that Clinton is a closet communist. It's a flat out falsehood when people still circulate things like the Andy Rooney e-mail that showed up here, long after it's been shown to be a lie. Opinions are opinions. Facts are facts. If we can't agree on the latter - particularly because we're willing to accept and circulate debunked bullcrap as facts - there is no hope for agreement on the former.

Why did Hillary refuse to meet with Gold Star mothers? How could Al Gore not know who Osama bin Laden was when Oliver North mentioned him during the Iran-Contra hearings? The answers to all the questions are simple. Because the statements aren't true. But truth isn't important when you're trying to feed your team's jones for partisan propaganda.. .... I'm not saying that all those on the right lack smarts, but the part of their brain that detects the crap from the distinct smell of the bull alone, suffers near-fatal dysfunction when that crap supporting their side is squeezed out.
