Off topic but good for a laugh

California versus Texas: One is pro-business and pro-growth and the other…well…not!

California coyote problem

The governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks the governor’s dog, then bites the governor. The governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie Bambi and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.

He calls animal control. Animal control captures the coyote and bills the state $200 for testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it. He calls a veterinarian.

The vet collects the dead dog and bills the state $200 for testing it for diseases. The governor goes to the hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and getting his bite wound bandaged. The running trail gets shut down for six months while the California Fish and Game Department conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous animals.

The governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a ‘coyote awareness program’ for residents of the area. The Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world. The governor’s security agent is fired for not stopping the attack. The state spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with additional special training, re: the nature of coyotes.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) protests the coyote’s relocation and files a $5 million suit against the state. Texas coyote solution The governor of Texas is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and tries to attack him and his dog. The governor shoots the coyote with his state-issued pistol and keeps jogging.

The governor spent 50 cents on a .380-caliber, hollow-point cartridge. Buzzards ate the dead coyote.

And that, my friends, is why California is broke and Texas is not.

He's a lot of things, but an idiot he is not.

Very few people we call idiots actually are. We just use the term as a catch-all when we wish to disparage someone.

"Does one become a 'fascist' for just an incident? Or does one incident reveal a person's true nature?"

Depends on the incident, but this is not an isolated Bloomberg-ism. He has a history of dictating that restaurant menus must include calorie counts (which was expanded to the rest of the country under Obamacare), banning trans-fat in foods (which has proven to be a nightmare to enforce, since as it turns out a lot of meat has it naturally), banning smoking in public places like parks, beaches and Times Square, and banning Styrofoam trays, and has even mused about mandating that people buy gym memberships.

All in the interest of public health, of course, but he has a clear record of trying to micromanage people's personal lives. Fascist policies, plain and simple.

And if Obama came up with a answer for world hunger, the loons on the right would say he ruined the farm equipment industry.

" It is always somebody else's fault."

Will we ever know if it's always or usually the GOP which has sworn to make him fail, sworn to withhold revenues from the Government, basically sold their souls.

I did not misspell Owebama Care. As for the rest of your rationalizations, well that is what they are. All Owebama wants to do is tax, tax tax, you can call it what you want. He has no interest whatsoever in the good of this nation. As far as him calling it an act of terror he did do that but then he sent Rice out to blame it on the video and he and Hillary did that again when they greeted the coffins. If you think he had nothing to do with the video line then you are surely delusional. He is a control freak and we all know that but he never has the guts to admit anything. It is always somebody else's fault. Come on man wake up and realize this guy is a coward. We will never agree on this as you on the left worship him and continue to give him cover. Hellfire man he won't even take credit for the fact that he is the one that came up with the sequester in the first place. He has no leadership skills and really he is not a great speaker, he is a great reader. It is my firm belief that in the end he will go down as the worst president in history. This discussion is pointless. He is now trying to blame Whitehouse tourgate on the Secret Service. He is a sad example.

"... calling him a fascist for controlling drink sizes is perfectly accurate..."

Does one become a 'fascist' for just an incident? Or does one incident reveal a person's true nature?

Does someone reading your post know that you don't mean he's a complete fascist in every way, now and forever? A secret card carrying member of the American Fascist (if there is one) Party?

A leader, if he's truly a leader, will be said to be doing too much by half of the people half of the time. Another half of the population will say he's doing to little, about half of the time.

Together, the people are 50% dissatisfied. But for opposite reasons. Would you say Obama is a Socialist, and he is also a Fascist?

comanche, welcome back to the reality train.

Obamacare (you misspelled it, but maybe you can't completely get on board) will definitely reduce the cost of health care, both for the individual and for the nation. You will see this in due time, like after it's in force.

Obama called the Benghazi incident an "act of terrorism" the day after. Perhaps you missed the first debate. Don't feel bad, Romney also missed the statement.

The deficit has been reduced; but with Republicans refusing all revenues, it's not as good as it would otherwise be. You may call it Obama's "lie" that he did not know the GOP would torpedo the economy to try and make him "fail".

"Transparency" is relative to something; I don't know what your standard is. Relative to all previous administrations in my memory, this one's pretty good.

"You mean like "fascist" to describe a policy that you don't happen to agree with, or don't see the need for? "

"Fascist" isn't name calling. It's a political descriptor like socialist, communist, capitalist, etc. Some fascist policies come from a good place and are well-intentioned. A fascist policy isn't in and of itself an evil one.

Now, of course I called Bloomberg a "fucking fascist" a couple of days ago. I'm not saying I'm not guilty of these things, and feel free to call me out when I am. However, calling him a fascist for controlling drink sizes is perfectly accurate, at least when it comes to that particular policy.
