OK...This is just grapevine news fed to me through several UK friends of mine, so take it for what it is...But Bimbo brand (I'm not making that up) is already in talks to offer to take over production/branding/etc at their Mexico facility.
They already make a VEEEEEEEERY similarly packaged white bread that tastes a lot like Wonder Bread. One wonders if this has been years in the making and it's only now that the union got overly involved that they are potentially serious about pulling the trigger. Honestly, I think if they had ever considered moving the production facility down to Mexico this would be a perfect excuse. |
