That guy hit the nail on the head. Really I've hired people with degree's in glassblowing and the collection calls start coming a month later followed by a tearful confession that they owe 30k+ in student loans. WTF who thinks its a good idea to allow someone to borrow in a degree program like that?

There is a long list of worthless degrees you could sub for the glassblowing.

Everything the government subsidizes gets inflated. Go look at the price of baby formula for example.

WTF because of the source. It's a liberal blog and news site, but this is absolutely true.

They can suspend, until the entire court can meet to hear arguments. Usually within the following days.

Not a WTF but I don't think it's worthy of its own thread, so I'll put it here. I didn't know this was a function of Supreme Court justices. Still learning shit about this country nearly 12 years into it....

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito issued an order late Tuesday suspending the planned execution of a Missouri inmate with a little more than an hour to spare before the inmate's scheduled lethal injection.

Alito, who handles emergency matters for Missouri and other states covered by the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, didn't explain why he issued the order suspending Russell Bucklew's execution, which had been scheduled for 12:01 a.m. Wednesday. But Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster issued a statement saying his office understands the full Supreme Court would consider Bucklew's requests on Wednesday.

Sexy, I'm not exactly surprised that the bozos who levied such commentary couldn't be bothered to defend themselves or take ownership of it. I grew tired of morons who are good with a wrench that believed that science was just made up stuff that only worked in laboratories.

Intelligence, btw, does not correlate well with certain skills. Some very talented mechanics, machinists, carpenters and other tradesmen are blatant idiots, but are nevertheless very good at what they do. I knew a guy who was seriously borderline retarded, but was a terrific mechanic. He could fix practically any kind of motor or piece of machinery you brought to him.

Maybe after we add even more cheaper energy with the Keystone, we can do all of what you say, plus get this Productive Engine Cranking full bore again. It was the power of our economic might that really underpinned winning the cold war. We need to recover that position of massive strength that will result with a resurging economy, and a commanding foreign presence.

Sexy, Warren Buffet last week said that we should keep the oil and gas we produce all to our selves. Let every body else fend for themselves. But in the same breath we should also buy some from other sources just to keep money flowing. We are almost energy independent and BTW some of those restrictions and regulations work to keep our workers, air and water as safe as possible and we need some of those regulations to make sure somebody doesn't get an unfair advantage. We will use all the technology to create new jobs and ones that make our economy grow.

By George, Bobbie, I think you have found your natural level of competence. Garbage Truck Operator. Is that a fancy way of saying Garbage Truck Driver? Or are you referring to the guy hanging on the back of the truck who feeds the garbage from the garbage cans into the garbage truck? That could work for your level of proven competence, too, especially perfect because of your tolerance for such high comfort levels for the stench of socialist bullshit. Those jobs probably pay about $15/hour, too.

Correct, RDY, and it's world economy, now, and we have find ways to compete with cheap foreign labor. Thank God we have become competitive again with the discovery of inexpensive means of pumping oil and gas, and are no longer dependent of the Arabian Oil Cartels. While cheap energy may keep us competitive overall cost wise, and will open some room for labor cost increases, all by itself, at least so far, it won't make us able to increase labor pay all that much. We will have to continue to depend on technology for the rest.

PD, you're right. one of my oldest sons high school class mates went to college, graduated and couldn't find a job teaching. So in order to make things meet he took a job with UPS. He has since retired from UPS with an excellent retirement benefit package and is enjoying his retirement picking up odd jobs when he wants to do and he even goes back to UPS during their busy seasons to help out.

I can't understand people when they say there are no jobs out there. From what I can see there are plenty of jobs in this economy. Maybe they think they are worth more than $20.00 an hour with no experience. They need to know that this is a new economy that is growing and the economy of yesteryear is to far gone.
