Are the Russian people invading Ukraine? or was it Russian soldiers?

A great many of you on these forums keep saying that the Russian/Soviet Union was so totalitarian, so to gain blind obedience... You cannot really say that this nations people are our enemies, but rather its leadership.

The statement that it is the people who are our enemies, is to say that the people voted for war... Yet if what you say about their leadership is true... The peoples vote is a false vote and they are repressed. So it isn't the people of Russia who are our geo-political enemy, it is Putin.

No matter what Pres Obama says or does in regards to Ukraine, those that hate Obama will disagree.

Avoid war, the Right/GOP goes nuts. Speaks of sending troops or planes, they go nuts. Joined the other 7 nations and suspend Russia, the Right loses their wigs.

It's a moot topic.

"During a press conference today in The Netherlands, ABC's Jonathan Karl asked President Obama if he thought "Mitt Romney had a point" when he said in 2012 that Russia was America's "number one" geopolitical foe. Obama took advantage of the question to slam his current political opponent, Vladimir Putin.

Karl's question began with a challenge. "In China, Syria, and Egypt — and now in Russia — we have seen you make strong statements and issue warnings that have been ignored. Are you concerned that America's influence in the world, your influence in the world, is on the decline?" And, he added, in light of recent developments, have you rethought your critiques of Romney?

During the 2012 campaign, Romney called Russia "our number one geopolitical foe," later downgrading that to a geopolitical foe as The Washington Post notes. The Obama campaign quickly criticized Romney for the statement, but Putin's invasion of Crimea has led to a round of told-ya-so's from Romney and his supporters.*

Is this a joke?

" Hillary is criticizing Obama about his weak response to Russia and his handling of Iran. "

Well, yeah. Obama has nothing to lose politically anymore and Hillary is trying to improve her 2016 chances by offering a deviation from Obama.

Remember 2008, how the Democrats more or less ran on "not Bush", and won. Well, Republicans are going to run in 2016 on "not Obama". Hillary (or any Democrat) must begin to distance themselves from Obama to not be seen as "Obama Redux".

That isn't very interesting, least of all, if she has eyes on the presidency in the next election.

You will see a lot of tong and cheek against Obama and his "weak handling" despite Obama killing more terrorist, imposing the strictest of sanctions against Iran and North Korea, and even the Russians.

What did bush do? He invaded Iraq, knowing full well that Iraq had nothin to do with 9/11. Attacking over chemical weapons in the hands of those who are the enemies of our enemies, isn't exactly a bad thing. I won't say it was a good thing, but neither was the wasted effort to get those weapons we never found... Or existed. Ending in destabilization, and a new ally to Iran. Something, no amount of blood and American money could have ever prevented... Short of genocide.

So the democrats will bad mouth Obama, if elected, they will then take his works to the next level.

His failed ACA, to a single payer system. (Thanks to employers like toomuch, who would cancel work based insurance, for a system he knows will fail)

His policies with other nations, advanced in some manner, likely one of cooperation and no dictation as bush tried and failed to do.

His domestic economic ideals furthered, by means which are yet unclear enough to speculate... But are pushed along by employers unwilling to bleed and provide for their workers, thus the workers vote for a government that provides what the employer should have, but refused to.

If the democrats lose the next two election cycles, there ideals Obama put into motion maybe retarded, their progression slowed until the 2022 or 2024 elections... And like the 2008 and 2012 election cycle, the ideals advanced by leaps and bounds as a new generation of improvised voters vote democratic... Or for what ever party advances the goals the Democratic Party currently endorses.

I really do not think anyone of you see the 50 year game plan... A plan started in the 80s when the unions were given their death blows.

You can't invade an imaginary Country. and that is what the Ukraine is and has always been. I do not disagree with the President often, but he is on the wrong side of this issue The agreements and promises made to Russia that annexed Crimea to the territory known as Ukraine were broken within DAYS of them being made, and the overthrow of the elected Government was the last straw Russia has a right to protect Russians and Russia's interest, and at the end of the day, who is the US to lecture ANY Country on honoring sovereignty?

I just watched a video from the 2008 Campaign where Sarah Palin (the one that all the self proclaimed liberal elites love to call stupid) warns that if Obama is elected, "indecision" and "moral equivalence" may encourage Russia's Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine.

huh
