No such nationality No historical precedent for nationhood Its natives are a bastard race of Tartars, Kosaks, Turkics, Jewish converts from the Asian Steppe, and the refuse left behind by Pols and Rus invaders. Ukraine literally means Border land in old Slav It was a Region whos borders do not even resemble the one's today which are nothing more than lines drawn by the Soviets It was the end of the line for the tribes which wandered west fromhe god forsaken Asian. Wasteland following Mongol trade routes

During the World War II the Ukrainian Insurgent Army tried to reestablish Ukrainian independence and fought against both Nazi Germany and Soviet Union. But Ukrainians failed to repel the aggression and Ukraine was occupied by Nazi Germany, then it was reoccupied again by the Soviet Union. In 1954 it expanded to the south with the Crimea transfer. In 1945, the Ukrainian SSR became one of the founding members of the United Nations.

Ukrainians are an East Slavic ethnic group native to Ukraine, which is the sixth-largest nation in Europe. The Constitution of Ukraine applies the term 'Ukrainians' to all its citizens. Also among historical names of the people of Ukraine Rusyns, Russians, Cossacks, Tartars etc. can be found. According to some dictionary definitions, a descriptive name for the "inhabitants of Ukraine" is Ukrainian or Ukrainian people.Belarusians and Russians are considered the closest relatives of Ukrainians, while Rusyns are either considered another closely related group, or an ethnic subgroup of Ukrainians.

For the sake of accuracy and the prevention of the spread of revisionist history, there is not now nor has there ever been a nationality. called Ukrainian. Until the fall of the USSR, there was no nation called Ukraine. I have seen the faux revisionist BS on the interwebs, so please don,t bother If you have questions feel free to ask.
