Comparing the democratic and republican parties of today vs pre 1964 is total nonsense at best, and an intentional attempt to deceive at worst

Chicago leads the list with NO CCW and NO GUNS ALLOWED

Did you read your own list? NY lead the list, but I already explained to you why your list is pretty much moo9t becuse it is not per capita, except disproves your own statements, and I sent you the Brookings report as to why the silly "more guns = less crime" is total nonsense

BTW..handguns are no longer banned in chicago, and there was never a "no guns allowed" law

It seems some writer at the NY Times is at it again, calling the GOP in disarray and racist. Perhaps this gent needs a little history lesson. The Democrat party gave America slavery, secession, segregation, and socialism. Jim Crow laws, poll tax, literacy tests, and providing women checks for having children out of wedlock are further examples of Democrat policies. President Lincoln broke the chains of physical bondage. President Reagan broke the chains of economic bondage. The writer thinks the GOP is in disarray, but it's thanks to liberal progressive policies emanating from the Obama administration that America is in disarray. The demise of our economic, energy, and national security are evident and the State of our Union is horrific. I would much rather be a member of a political party that rewards my individual industrialism, than one which promotes my individual subjugation. Allen West

PP you need to read what may issue means. Still your beloved Chicago leads the list with NO CCW and NO GUNS ALLOWED

Thanks for proving my point, (even though this list is relatively moot as it is not per capita) that 13 of the 15 most dangerous cities have CCW, which clearly indicates it does not lower the violent crime rate

New York — 515 may issue Chicago — 431 NO CCW Detroit — 344 Shall issue Philadelphia — 324 Shall issue Los Angeles — 297 may issue New Orleans — 200 Shall issue Houston — 198 Shall issue Baltimore — 196 may issue Dallas — 133 Shall issue Memphis — 117 Shall issue Phoenix — 116 Shall issue St. Louis — 113 Shall issue Washington D.C. — 108 NO CCW Kansas City, Mo. — 108 Shall issue Oakland, Calif. — 104 may issue

I wonder if anybody can find a city that's been run by Republicans for the last 50 years that in anywhere near as poor shape as these cities.

Most of these cities have elected Democrat Mayors for about 50 years. They have heavily Democratic voters............and it brought them to where they are now. The Democrat's ideas feel good but fail miserably.

NO ISSUE:

"No issue" states have no provision in law to allow a citizen to carry a concealed handgun. Likewise, these states will NOT honor a license or permit issued by any other state. Illinois, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia are no-issue jurisdictions

"may issue" (or "discretionary issue") laws require that the applicant demonstrate a specific "need", to justify the granting of a license or permit. Within the range and scope of "may issue" states, Alabama and Connecticut are as forthcoming with the issuance of permits and licenses as to be practically "shall issue". In New York, Massachusetts, and California (where rural counties tend to issue permits, but urban ones rarely do), the best descriptor seems to be "at the whim of local officials". Maryland, New Jersey and Hawaii have laws that provide for the issuance of licenses, however, so rarely do officials actually grant a license or permit that they could be classified as "almost non issue".

In thirty nine states, issuing authorities can not deny a concealed-carry application based on nebulous, undefined criteria or personal agenda. Although the state of Washington began the practice of issuing to applicants who met a well defined, objective set of criteria as early as 1961, the practice became legislatively popular following Florida's enactment of objective "shall issue," in 1987.

Well I am sure you all talk about this a lot at your ACLU meetings. And by the way Virginia has killed every anti-gun law that hit the floor. And passed all but one pro gun. Looks like things are looking up here in the SOUTH.
