User Details are only visible to members.	This week's outrage comes to us courtesy of the anti-gun Reverend Jesse Jackson. Rev. Jackson is not in the news as much now as he once was. When you do hear from him, though, his comments are still laced with his usual dose of hyperbole. That predictable pattern continues with Rev. Jackson's recent comments on semi-automatic firearms. According to an article appearing on TheBlaze dot com last month, Rev. Jackson believes that semi-automatic firearms must be banned because they could "shoot down planes" and therefore constitute a risk to national security. The Blaze ran a follow-up story debunking the claim, but that didn't seem to deter Rev. Jackson, as this week he boldly declared that, in addition to shooting down planes, semi-automatic firearms could also be used to "blow up railroads." "You know that these weapons can shoot down airplanes, they can blow up railroads. This is really a whole national security issue," Rev. Jackson said in a recent interview on Fox News. Blow up railroads? What in the world is he basing that claim on? If Rev. Jackson is interested in the facts and wants to return this debate back to earth, he should know that semi-automatic firearms were introduced in the late 1800s, and have been popular for self-defense, hunting and target shooting ever since. Forty percent of all uses of firearms for self-defense are performed with semi-automatic handguns, and all firearms used in the annual National Rifle and Pistol Trophy Matches are semi-automatic. Though he seems to know very little about semi-automatic firearms, we assume that we will continue to hear Rev. Jackson make outrageous claims about this issue in the future. No doubt Jackson won't be able to help himself, as he craves the spotlight to continue to push his agenda, using bizarre and truly outrageous claims. The anti-gunners--including Rev. Jackson--will stop at nothing to get what they want: a ban on your lawfully owned firearms. They will literally say anything they think will help them achieve their goal.

Gerald Connolly, a Democratic congressman from Virginia, has argued to his constituents that Americans shouldn’t be allowed to wield Stinger missiles “capable of downing commercial aircraft” even though such weapons are already illegal. “I have been accused of trying to dismantle the Second Amendment for simply asking whether high-powered, military-style semi-automatic firearms with large-capacity magazines — which were used in the D.C. sniper murders, the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and the mass shootings in Aurora and Newtown — should be readily available to the general public,” Connolly wrote in a letter recently disseminated to constituents concerned about gun rights. “Or for wondering whether the Second Amendment applies to weapons such as the FIM-92 Stinger missile launcher, a personal portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile platform capable of downing commercial aircraft.” A Stinger missile launcher is already considered a banned “destructive device” under the Gun Control Act of 1968. Using such weapons to shoot down commercial aircraft is a threat almost always associated with terrorists, including a group of four men who in 2009 were foiled by the FBI in their plot to take down a New York airliner using a Stinger missile. Connolly’s constituent letter was documented by gun maker Sturm, Ruger & Co. on its website, where gun owners have submitted response letters they received from U.S. lawmakers after contacting their offices about the ongoing gun debate. Name-dropping illegal weapon systems has become a common theme among advocates for gun restrictions in the wake of the December elementary school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Piers Morgan, a British citizen and CNN host, has been one of the loudest advocates for American gun restrictions in the wake of that shooting, relying on similar arguments to the one Connolly used in his letters.

If each and every person from the "urban area" voted for Obama, still it would require a high percentage of votes from ppl living in other parts of the cities or nation. Good thing there is no crime in the suburbs.... Or they might be included in the "blame".

I blame people who live in urban centers, with high crime, high unemployment, high gov't support, and low education levels for electing Obama.

People blame Democrats and Independents and Liberals and minorities for being retards and electing Obama, but do you ever see them look into their own party and say "hey, maybe the problem is these absolutely unelectable clowns we keep trotting out?". Setting aside all the crazy rhetoric from both sides, Obama is a VERY popular president - but he's honestly not some political superman! He's pulled together a fantastic coalition in part thanks to a solid ground-roots effort and some help from the Clintons, but you know what his greatest strength these past 2 elections was? The Republicans! This isn't some big diss to the Republican party - but there are some serious schisms forming between these pseudo-Libertarian types and the moderate conservatives. With that issue in mind set against the demographics of the country swinging hard against them, Republicans are going to have a VERY hard time in 2016 against a political machine like Hillary Clinton. I don't see a single Rep right now with the oomph to take her on - so they need to find a superstar fast or pray the Democratic primary gets ugly and knocks her down a few pegs.

Better yet, why waste time watching any of the media outlets? You just pick n pull which arts sound best to you... Right or wrong, the Right is well-known of attempting to scare the public into making the comments such as you read here about Pres Obama? And these clowns say the worst president in history was still more popular/electoral worthy than McCain and Romney? The Repubs put their best ppl as opponents, and Obama crushed them like Borat?

You can spend 40 years perfecting a craft and teach it to someone in 40 days, or 40 hours; or put them on the right path in 40 seconds. Misinformation is abuse of that gift. A surgeon can easily end a life on the table, but he doesn't. It takes little energy to make the situation worse, more energy to do it right, and WAY more work to fix something that has been fucked up.
