This is getting embarrassing for the Prick of The United States. Illinois Sheriff's Association Opposes Assault Weapon Ban wsiltv.c om/news/local/Illinois-Sheriffs-Association-Opposes-Assault-Weapon-Ban-191122471.html WSIL -- The Illinois Sheriffs' Association, which represents law enforcers across the state, says the debate about reducing gun violence shouldn't focus on the weapons. Members argue it should focus on mental health. During his state of the Union, President Obama renewed his push for added gun control. "It has been two months since Newtown. This is not the first time this country debated how to reduce gun violence but this time it is different," explains Obama. Guns were also a topic in the governor's State of the State address. "There's no place in our state for military-style assault weapons," says Governor Pat Quinn. Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick says a ban on assault weapons won't prevent future tragedies. He says mental health awareness should be the priority. Inmates in Williamson and Franklin Counties participate in mental health programs with the H Group. Vick suggests that help should be available before people wind up in jail. "Every teacher could tell you the kids in their class, from 2nd Grade on, that are going to need some type of mental health services sometime in their life," says Vick. Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones was among the 73 sheriffs who voted unanimously to take a stance against an assault weapons ban. He agrees with Vick, those with mental health issues aren't getting the help they need. "We have three here right now in this jail. So I can imagine what nationwide, statewide, what that problem is like," says Jones. Those inmates are housed in Franklin County because they are unfit for trial and are waiting for a bed to open in a standard mental health facility. Jones says two types of people commit acts of gun violence, criminals who shouldn't have guns or the mentally ill. With a ban, everyone else will be punished. "That's the concern, limiting law abiding citizens the right to protect themselves is doing little really to address the problem," explains Jones. The Sheriff's Association recommends several other ways to reduce gun violence. That includes granting law enforcement access to mental health records, addressing violent video games, and strongly enforcing existing gun laws.

There are now States passing laws against it: Posted by Scott Landreth The Buckeye State has joined the ever growing list of states that are willing to stand up to unconstitutional federal infringements on the 2nd Amendment. Ohio Senator Kris Jordan has introduced a bill that would prohibit firearms seizures, registration and bans in Ohio. SB 36 was introduced on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 with Senator Tim Schaffer listed as a Cosponsor. In addition to prohibiting the seizure of any firearm from any person who is lawfully in possession or control of a firearm, the bill also prohibits forced gun registration and includes first degree felony charges to any law enforcement officer (state or federal) or international agent who attempts to enforce a firearm registration or firearm ban. “These law abiding Ohioans are not the ones to be scared of, rather it is the politicians who say it is their goal to disarm “Mr. and Mrs. America” that we should fear”, said Senator Jordan in reference to remarks made by US Senator Diane Feinstein in a 1995 interview on 60 Minutes. SB 36 is expected to receive strong support in the Republican controlled Ohio General Assembly and eventually make its way to the desk of Republican Governor John Kasich. A signature would certainly be expected at this point given Governor Kasich’s recent comments regarding the 2nd Amendment: “I’m a Second Amendment supporter and that’s not going to change. There are a range of issues at play here involving mental health, school security and a culture that at times fails to reject the glorification of violence that can desensitize us to the sanctity and majesty of life. Going forward, we need to pay close attention to what the experts conclude from this incident in order to see if there are lessons to be learned and applied here in Ohio”. The Ohio Tenth Amendment Center is urging all Ohioans to contact their state Representative and Senator as well as Governor Kasich to encourage them to support legislation that protects and preserves the 2nd Amendment. In addition, we encourage you to contact Senator Jordan to thank him for standing up for the 2nd Amendment.

We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here's what we were told. Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages. RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days. FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out! Armalite: Maxed out. DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product. COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's. LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels. Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind. AMMO: Every caliber is now allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible with 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by law enforcement, and civilians are third in line. MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon. RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted. Bow Owens says they didn't know when they'd be getting anything back in stock, from magazines to rifles to pistols. Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn't come close to keeping up with market demand. It wasn't just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-Nagants -- of which every gun store always seems to have 10-20 -- were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust free space marked their passing. I've never seen anything like it. Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone. This isn't a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. Never met anyone as good at putting rounds on top of each other down range. Though she only shot once a year or so, I watched her take 14 clays in a row once. Her shoulder was black and blue the next day. Why does causality always trip up the righties? And when did Obama ever claim to be an expert? Or even good at it? And why is THIS suddenly so damn important when we have so many bigger fish to fry? His shooting form? Seriously?
