TORONTO (Reuters) - Canada has a contingency plan should the United States not reach an agreement with respect to a series of tax hikes and spending cuts set to kick in next year or if the euro zone's debt crisis worsens, the country's finance minister said on Tuesday. "I can assure you, we have contingency plans. This is not a new subject for us. We have been concerned about this subject for many months. And we prepare. So we have contingency plans not only with respect to the fiscal cliff, but with respect to the European situation were that to unravel in a disorderly way," Finance Minister Jim Flaherty told a news conference in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

So do any of our resident Canadians have any idea what this plan might be?

"I am not convinced that the "cliff" would be such a disaster; have read that some models show it would produce a few quarters of recession-like conditions, then spark a new wave of growth. "

But you also believed Obama during the campaign that we were doing just fine. A day after the election he says we are not.

That is bittersweet justice.

I sure hope McConnell and Co. hold the line on tax increases.

I am betting on a negotiated settlement to avert the fiscal cliff.

I would tell you to look in the mirror TBR, but the mirror might be the Bush family out to get you.

*More conspiracy theories? Jesus...*

Was this directed at me? As to the rest of your post, thanks, I need to spend time educating myself on this specific topic.
