Not many people disagree with those, Chimera.

We just have profoundly different views on how they could or should be achieved.

I have a question for all of the socialists in here. What happens when all of the 1% stop paying taxes? Yes they can. They have wealth. They can afford not to take an income for a few years, live off of their already taxed wealth, and just reinvest any corporate profits into R&D or other upgrades or just more investments that are pretax. And all of this and they are not breaking any laws. So who's money do you take then???

Your comment is noticed and approved. You have that certain something extra that makes America a great nation! Imbodied in what appears to be an excellent delivery package.

At least one poll (non-scientific) found solid support for these 2nd term initiatives (after the economy): 1.Rebuild the infrastructure 2. Improve Education 3. Break Partisan Gridlock 4. Fix the Tax Structure

I would have added "Streamline and modernize health care" to that. How about y'all?

President Obama's second inauguration affirmed the Voice of The People in the last national election, with no deviation, but more hope for this country than I have.

Michele Obama wore her steel-blue coat/dress of power with dignity, and I had hoped she would put wimpy Cantor in a headlock and make him beg for mercy until he pledged unity from the House, but that would have been inappropriate for the First Lady.

Eva Longoria was a sweet charm. Kelly Clarkson sang her R&B patriotic song adaptation with confidence and clarity, but Beyonce's R&B patriotic song included that vocal technique that put her one octave higher than the score, a magnificent version from a true diva.

The crowd at inauguration was only about 1/3 of number in 2008.

Obama gave a great speech. Very fitting on MLK Day.

This is inauguration week for President Obama's second term.

He should keep his friends close and his enemies closer.

Here is why:

Little more than a decade ago, John Boehner was hanging out with Sen. Ted Kennedy. The conservative Ohio congressman was among the central group of bipartisan, bicameral lawmakers who hammered out the No Child Left Behind education overhaul. And Boehner didn't stop there. He and Massachusetts liberal Kennedy would hold joint dinners every year to raise money for Washington, D.C., Catholic schools.

That cross-party work once was appreciated for its value in developing the negotiating skills and patience required by someone in the job Boehner now holds, speaker of the House. But such relationships are now seen as unholy alliances by a segment of Boehner's Republican caucus, and the tension is likely to continue as Boehner begins his second Congress as speaker.
