| Ever notice how the media seems to only cover young attractive murder victims, usually women, and yes usually white. One would think that attractive white women where an endangered species just by looking at the news from day to day. Maybe the ACLU should sue the major news outlets on behalf of non-attractive or average looking murder victims........but seriously I have noticed this morbid fascination with young attractive murder victims for quite some time now, what do you think drives this? |

maybe Dzzy and the ACLU could sue the serial killers/rapists for discrimination for not killing the average and or fat people. Damn it I just gave the lawyers and Idea... they're already suing because fast food is (shockingly) bad for you and if you eat it to much you'll get fat... why wouldn't they sue the serial killers.

it's sad when Rosie is the only Fat Ugly woman you hear about in the news, while average over weight women who are victims are ignored by the media. And they usually follow the same trend when it comes to men as well......

sensationalism does indeed sell and it is a travesty that not all murders/missing persons are treated equally.

Joe, that's a good commentary. I think it has to do with the fact that news has become a business. News Business...now, those are two words that should never go together! Sensationalism sells, so that's what we get force-fed as long as we continue tunning in to mainstream (ie commercial) news. That's why I tuned out long ago.
Of course all victims matter, not just pretty white women. Ask the relatives of the 600,000+ Iraqis GW has already killed, and counting. Not to talk about the 3500+ US troops, etc. It is trully a travesty, and the US media bears a huge responsibility. |
