Sweet, the economic situation in ND is due in large part to energy related jobs- specifically oil. The influx of workers foe those jobs means more jobs for other goods and services that those employees desire. Housing, is up, service jobs are up. Just try and get a motel room somewhere in ND now- you will pay higher rates than you do in LA and NY for a comparable room.

Just read that north dakota had a 4.2 unemployment rate for june had 9000 job openings starting july 1st. entry level jobs at places like McDonald are starting at around 12 to 15 dollars an hour.All Thanks to a $700 million budget surplus and a big tax cut.

Farms around here turn down US citizens when they look for work, they will only hire immigrants. It is a myth that all Americans are unwilling to do field labor. Now most teenagers that is another story.

It is like commission the more you pick the more you make...and if it meant improving the wages Americans are paid yes I would pay more for food. The claim that Mexicans pick better than American workers is false, it is the pay.
