Things by all accounts and standards, ARE getting better. The Dow is at or above 14,000, The S&P 500 at or around 1500, the November and December Jobs reports have been adjusted up to and over 200,000 jobs each, the unemployment rate inched up because more people are looking for work. The housing market is rebounding and retail , durable goods and inventories are all UP

If Obama's jobs council was such a success, why isn't he keeping it?

From WSJ:

President Barack Obama let his jobs council disband Thursday as its two-year charter expired, sparking criticism among Republicans and conservative economists that the group had provided more show than substantive policy.

The jobs council was created in January 2011 as a way for business leaders—including executives from General Electric Co., GE -1.37% American Express Co. AXP -0.83% and Boeing Co. BA +0.45% —to advise the president on ways to boost the economy. It was a high-profile outreach effort by Mr. Obama, who has struggled to form strong working relationships with businesses and Wall Street.

The panel was criticized when months passed with little evidence of activity. During its two years in existence, the group met four times, with Mr. Obama attending each meeting. The last session convened a year ago, according to its website. The council also held 18 "listening and action sessions" nationwide.

In other words: Another broken promise, another Obama failure.

Sexy, You are not alone with the shrinking value of your home and we don't wish that on anyone. But home values are a special situation and are correcting themselves due to easy credit and and a bubble in the market causing speculation. Values would have probably come down a bit now matter who was in office and the real estate market began to show problems in early 2007. I remember telling my son and future daughter in law not to buy a condo but to rent for a few years but they bought one in 2007 anyway. You know the rest of the story. I ask that you look at the long view with housing. Did you buy the house ten years ago? It's probably kept up with inflation or even better if you did. If you were to buy a house now, what do you thing it will be worth ten years from now? We all have experience mistiming the market with our purchases but if they are for the long term, you'll probably be close to breaking even. If not, you learned that nothing's guaranteed in life and we all just have to take our chances at times.

As far as medical costs go, yours have only gone up 12% in three years? You're doing great! For that last 15 years or so medical costs have gone up at least twice the rate of inflation and it seems like insurance is going up at double digit rates every year. Again, medical costs affect us all and while people can rant and rave about the medical care plan passed by our government, it was a sincere attempt to rein in costs while facing the obvious problem that we ALL need medical care. Until we make Medicare more efficient and tackle the entire health care industry, we will continue to pay more and more. I read recently that the Japanese outlive us yet their healthcare costs are a small fraction of what we pay. How can that be? Are they skipping needed care? Are they letting their old folks die off? If they were doing those things, we would be outliving them but we aren't. I recently passed a kidney stone for the first time. (think of a mule kicking you in your side for six hours) I got TWO not one CAT scans that cost me $800 each. Why two? I think it's defensive medicine and someone padding their bill. The doctor said to take some tylenol with codeine and tough it out. Also, look around you. How many people our age are overweight? You think there aren't costs associated with those extra pounds? My theory is that if you gave everyone a few hundred dollars a year for a gym membership (and they used it), we'd reduce health care costs by a couple of grand per person. No more diabetes from being overweight. No more joint problems. High blood pressure goes down. Just some thoughts. Now it's time to pack up the car and stay overnight near the airport for our early morning flight to Hedo! For a week we aren't going to think or talk about the economy, religion, politics, jobs, or lack of money. The only worry might be if we put enough sun screen on to protect our private parts!! :) All of you that agree that one week of that is good philosophy can join the HEDO party. We're left, we're right, we're middle of the road, and we're always popular.

waaaah......waannnah.... Blame Pres Obama for your purchase of over-priced property. Well, I hope that makes you feel better. The housing market is, what it is. Speculation. Thanks for assuming, and please come again. I lost big time on the stock market, but not blaming THAT president, but the way it's ran. Pump n Dump and Real-time vs NOT real time. Day-traders will tell you about that scam.

and.... "I get a chuckle every time I read a ZZ notation. How can a person(s) who does understand how to spell not understand the basic laws of economics"

uhm... dunno.... maybe that's a question for an Economics instructor/expert, etc? I'm pretty sure they'd say that they don't correlate? No more so than a pro athlete that can't spell very well. Though they "understand how to spell", but made errors.

Hey, don't take any wooden nickels or is it nickles? And you should followed rule No. 1 -- don't put all your eggs in one basket ---- diversify, diversify, diversify.

And yes, I can report what Obamanomics has done for me: My large house, which I thought was going to be my retirement stash is now half of it's value in 2008. My wife's Florida townhouse is worth 40% of it's purchase price, which was her lifes savings. The real cost of most everything has increased about 12% since 2008, especially utility costs, health costs, insurance for my car and house, gas (of course) Heating oil, Food, you name it. It costs more! I almost feel lucky to be retired, and on a fixed income!

With our elected Congress and Obama in a lock hold with each other, American Industry has finally decided to sort this mess out. They are withholding expansion and with that, jobs. And with good reason. Our economy will be really bad by November 2012, that there will be a swing hard to the right, hopefully enough to get some responsible people running our Government. It that does not happen, and we suffer another four years of socialistic non productivity, we really will be in a mess.

I get a chuckle every time I read a ZZ notation. How can a person(s) who does understand how to spell not understand the basic laws of economics. All I can say to him (her) is that I have lived and worked in several other countries, including Pakistan, India, Nicaragua, Mexico, France, Germany, and Nigeria. Believe me, every one of them except France and Germany were a financial and political mess, and all those who were a mess practiced either Socialism or Dictatorship. In Pakistan's case, they slide between the two forms of government as all the whacky religeous groups duke it out incessently. I wish ZZ would go to one of these countries that are practicing Obamanomics, which he seems to love so much, and then stay there.

Sorry I got off course, but sometimes he (she) really embarrasses me when I realize he (she) is an American, too.

Who wants to buy an Obama mobile:

DETROIT (AP) — Chrysler Group LLC said Tuesday it has suspended nine workers without pay after a Detroit television station aired footage of them allegedly drinking and smoking marijuana before their shifts at an area plant.

WJBK-TV aired the story about the workers at the Trenton Engine Plant last week. The station said it was tipped off by other workers at the plant. The plant employs around 500 people who make V-6 engines for the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Grand Caravan and other vehicles.

Chrysler said it identified the workers using the station's video. All nine have been suspended without pay while the company investigates and determines what action should be taken.

This is the second time in a year that the station has reported on Chrysler workers drinking and smoking before a shift. Last fall, the company fired two workers and gave two others unpaid, one-month layoffs after the station took video of them drinking beer before the start of their shift at a Detroit assembly plant.

I am wondering why other "workers" at the plant have to make a call to a TV station? Is it because union thugs will show up if they use the established union reporting system? And the thugs will not thunk the wasted ones who turn out crap. They will bust heads on the folks who want to make a good product. Ya think they bought the "good shit" at the union hall? Way to go Obama. You used tax payer money to bail out drunks and pot heads. This must be the reason you car broke down in Ireland.

Billionaires and millionaires don't create jobs.

WealthCare is the the never-ending song of the Boehner's Boys Choir.

The WealthCare song is a fallacy of logic.

Republic-cons can't create jobs.
