Texas roadside body cavity search case to go to grand jury

The case involving two Texas women who claim they were subjected to an illegal and humiliating 'roadside body cavity search' will be investigated by the Dallas County District Attorney’s office of public integrity and will go before a grand jury next month, The Dallas Morning News reported. Angel Hobbs, 38, and her 24-year-old niece, Ashley Hobbs, were stopped by a state trooper along Highway 161 in July. They told the officer that they were headed to a casino in Oklahoma. But the trooper said he smelled marijuana inside the car, MyFoxDFW.c om reported.

The women reportedly denied having any marijuana. The trooper didn't believe them and called for a female officer to conduct a search, the report said.

Angel Hobbs and her niece said the search happened on the side the road and in front of the patrol car’s camera. Video shows the female officer's hand on their breasts and down the back and front of both women's pants. She did not change plastic gloves between the searches, the women said. "We believe that he pretextually made it up, fabricated it. There was no marijuana smell," said Scott Palmer, their attorney.

"I was molested. I was violated. I was humiliated in front of other traffic. I had to witness my niece go through the same thing," Angel Hobbs said. Attorney Pete Schulte, a former cop who is not associated with the case, said he can't determine just by looking at the video if the search went to the point of the women being violated.

"If they did go that far then that becomes aggravated sexual assault because with the fourth amendment and with my years as police and in my years as an attorney and training at the police academy this would not happen," he said. Other law enforcement sources agreed that these types of searches don't happen out in public, but the women claim it did happen to them. "I don't know what I could say or what I could do. I felt hopeless," Ashley Hobbs said.

While the department does not discuss cases with pending litigation, it does acknowledge the Texas Rangers conducted an inquiry and turned those findings over to the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, the report said.

Anyone reading this news brief would realize that Texas must be a territory governed by agents of indecent search and exposure.

Idiots out patrolling the highways often enjoy engaging in unsusual detective work, knowing that their conduct is part of a their employment as a protective class representing state-subsidized perversion.

The female trooper has been suspended. Hopefully she will be fired, and the girls will win a large settlement teaching Texas Public Safety a costly lesson. The problem with criminal charges is the trooper will claim the search is consensual. Which from appearance of the recording it is. The girls will have to prove they were in custody at the time of search. There are clear court rulings in the cases of strip or cavity searches while a suspect is in custody.

Having:

What part of sexual assault didnt you understand?

The cop won't meet up with the other two women... She will however be with women for a long long time... In a state or federal prison.

Fjep:

Having thinks that the four if them planned this ahead of time. The female officer kept herself available for the call, while the two civilians would give the male officer a reason to pull them over.

He would call it in, request a cavity search on the side of the road and the female officer would respond.

Personally it is stupidity or total paronia to think this way given that both officers have lost their jobs at the minimum and worst case the female officer might be looking at sexual assault charges given the extent of the search, where it was done and how poorly she had done it.

The male cop would be likely to simply be fired.

HFT can you actually be that stupid?

So you are saying they planned on being pulled over, planned on being searched, knew ahead of time the female trooper would grope them, just so they could file a fucking law suit.

Pure fucking stupidity!

Having:

I doubt that they are conspiring... The penalties that the officers are about to face will not only end them careers, but ruin their lives for life. For what? 200k each? That isn't enough for the rest of ones life let alone the life long limitations on their personal freedoms... And the likelihood of ten years in prison.

No, this was a power trip that two officers were on, or one officer raping in proxy and the woman officer was too weak minded or afraid to speak out against the other officer. (good old buy system? Rank?)

It's texas. Little that most texans do make sense.

Out of the people that I have met across the US... Texans are the loudest, the most verbally threatening... And only when they think that they can get away with something do they go on power trips.

The fact that two cops in Texas took part in this reflects poorly on their captains... Personally no less than three officers ought to lose their jobs. The officers involved, their immediate supervisors, and their units training supervisor who sighed off on the documents that they received appropriate training on body cavity searches.

Further criminal charges ought to be field, molestation and other sexual assault charges applied. When these two officers get out of prison, they ought to be on the magins list. This was after all rape by proxy.

I hope these two women get seven figure settlements after all petals fees are settled and taxes paid.
