I like and respect you too, VA.

However, between working, looking for another job, a Ph.D. program, two kids and a wife, I don't really have a lot of time for this.

And, most of the people who "debate" here are too blinded by their biases, or too uninformed, or too deluded, or just too stupid to deal with.

There are a couple of bright spots, but this is mostly a vast wasteland of stupidity...

That's too bad. tbr. I enjoy discussing things with you. I don't have to agree with someone to have an intelligent (I think) fact and logic-based conversation with.

I sincerely hope you return to the fora at some point to engage in discussion. Honest. I have respect for you.

"I'd love to answer tbr's message if I thought there was any chance he'd read it and respond."

I won't.

I have never heard of such a thing, but I am in California.

" Could be an invasion of privacy, but one of my best friends works at a place that does testing to find out if you are a smoker or not."

Do second hand smoke count? I have heard that some places are attempting to count second hand smoke into the equation.

"They also charge extra for smokers and collect a blood sample to analyze and verify whether or not you are a smoker."

Tbr:

Nah, the smoking thing is common in insurance, as it should be.

"The hubby's health insurance charges higher premiums if one's waist circumference is greater than 40 inches. They also charge extra for smokers and collect a blood sample to analyze and verify whether or not you are a smoker."

That's probably bullshit.

Invasion of privacy.

"So much of the junk on here makes me sick. "

Then don't read it...
