Robber faced Madera pharmacist who's an expert shooter

fresnobee.c om/2013/01/11/3129344/bandit-opened-fire-at-pharmacy.html#storylink=cpy#storylink=cpy#storylink=cpy

An attempt to rob a Madera pharmacy of cough medicine Tuesday night ignited a short but deadly gunfight between a gang member and a store owner who is a competitive pistol shooter.

Police Chief Steve Frazier said Thursday that it appeared the store owner, Bryan Lee, had little choice but to return fire when Aquilla Bailey, 31, burst into the Almond Avenue Pharmacy firing a .45 caliber Smith & Wesson pistol at Lee and his mother, Sophie. Lee, an Army veteran, returned fire with a 1911-model Colt .45.

Frazier said Bailey shot six or seven times, with one round hitting Sophie Lee in the leg. Lee fired five back, mortally wounding Bailey and also apparently shooting Bailey's fellow Dogpound gang member Jonte Harris, 27, twice in the leg.

Texas man, 21, fatally shoots intruder during home invasion

foxnews.co m/us/2013/02/23/houston-man-21-shoots-intruder-during-home-invasion/?intcmp=obnetwork#ixzz2M54vuvsP

A 21-year-old Texas man is being credited with protecting his family when he retreated into his family’s bedroom, retrieved a gun and fatally shot one of three intruders who forcefully entered his home, KHOU.c om reported.

The family was reportedly baking a cake Thursday night in their home near Houston when the men knocked on the front door and pushed the father to the ground. KHOU reported that the man thought that the men were friends of his son.

The men lunged for the mother, the report said. At that point the 21-year-old, who was not identified, got his father’s gun and opened fire, killing one of the intruders.

"I just heard a couple of times: boom, boom, boom," the father, told the station. "One young life is lost."

Police later spotted a vehicle with two men who matched the suspects' descriptions and took them in for questioning, the station reported. No charges are expected to be filed against the son.

Being retired Air Borne this saying has always caught my attention.

"A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one; you'll probably never need one again."

San Antonio Active Shooter Two people were wounded late Sunday when gunfire erupted at a local movie theater, sending panicked moviegoers rushing to exits and ducking for cover, police and witnesses said. A lone suspect was in custody after being wounded by an unidentified law enforcement officer, a Bexar County Sheriff's Office spokesman said. Conditions of the two people wounded were not immediately released, nor was it disclosed where they were when they were wounded, or the type of gun that was used. Witnesses said numerous shots were fired inside and outside the Santikos Mayan Palace 14 theater complex on Southwest Military Drive around 9:25 p.m., setting off the scramble to safety before police and EMS arrived. The complex was evacuated and sealed off for several hours. Detective Louis Antu, spokesman for the Bexar County Sherriff's Office, said the shooting began at a nearby China Garden and “carried on into the theater.” At one point, the suspect fired at a San Antonio Police Department patrol car, Antu said. “He was shooting at a marked unit,” Antu said. “He knows he was shooting at an officer so that's (an) automatic (charge of) attempted capital murder.” After the suspect reached the theater, an off duty Bexar County Sheriff officer who was working at the theater shot at him and possibly struck him, Antu said. “She took all appropriate action to keep everyone safe in the movie theater,” Antu said. Tara Grace, who was getting a drink from the concession stand when the shooting began, ran into the bathroom and locked herself in a stall with five other patrons to avoid the mayhem. “We thought we were going to die,” she said. A person at the scene, an employee from a different location of the restaurant, said the gunman initially may have targeted a coworker before making his way to the theater, though Antu could not confirm a motive immediately. The shooting immediately sparked fears of a mass slaying like the one in July that killed 12 people and injured 58 at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo. Cassandra Castillo, waited anxiously outside the theater for her son, a projectionist at the theater. “It brings back memories of the other theater shooting, and the elementary school shooting,” she said. “You only think the worst.” The rest of the story goes like this: It's like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant! Now aren't you wondering why this isn't a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting? There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened. Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week. Just thought you'd like to know.

Oh come on FJ, you know it is just a man crush. I have a special fondness for hairy rednecks with one-dimensional political views and unlimited time on their hands to play parrot on a swinger chat board

After all, liberals are such homos, right?

Another liberal stalker, no one needs anymore proof of the insanity of the liberal mind than most of the liberals who post here.

Speaking about pathetic obsessions, I can imagine FJ turning into petrified wood as he sits in front of that computer day after week after month parroting NRA talking points and coming up with new insults for liberals.

Virginia Beach pizza shop offering discount to gun owners

ht tp://wtkr.c om/2013/02/15/virginia-beach-pizza-shop-offering-discount-to-gun-owners/

Slice by slice, one Virginia Beach pizza shop is showing its support for the Second Amendment by offering fifteen percent off pies to gun owners.

“All they have to do is show me that they’re carrying a weapon or they can show me their concealed weapons permit and they can get the discount,” says All Around Pizza owner, Jay Laze.

Laze started the offer after a Utah frozen yogurt shop made headlines earlier this month for also giving gun toters discounts.

“I thought it was a great idea and I was wondering why nobody here was doing it,” he says. “It should be happening all around the country.”

So far, Laze says the response has been great. Brendan Kelly openly carries his handgun and says it’s nice to see a business appreciate customers like him.

“It’s part of our rights as Americans and everybody should be entitled to the option if they want to, so it’s nice to have an incentive,” Kelly says.

Laze openly carries himself, and his support for gun ownership is incorporated throughout his business.

“I actually hire delivery drivers that do carry openly,” he says.

At the very least, he hopes his offer will get people talking.

Kelly says more businesses should follow in All Around Pizza’s footsteps.

“It’s has to start somewhere,” Kelly says. “You know a local pizza shop, a yogurt shop, whatever. It could be the beginning of something larger.”
