How about we look at this another way.

Say a faction of the far right/left, starts a civil war here in the US... Should Russia, china or Syria for example have the right to shoot at the US government as it restores order?

These rebels make no promises to keep the radicals suppressed. To protect women and allow them to educate themselves or gain independance as a person. Much less protect all faith, Muslim and Christian. (Plus others)

Both snakes are equal in venom, but at the least the current Syrian government tries to do the above to some extent.

"Obama did not present any direct evidence to back up his assertion that the Syrian government bears responsibility for the attack. U.S. officials were searching for additional intelligence to bolster the case for a strike against Assad's military infrastructure and rule out the possibility that a rogue element of the Syrian military could have used the weapons on its own authority."

Your "reason" for why he needs Congressional approval is not connected to your reason to take military action, Robert.

All of those anti-war protests.. so many of them going on right now... right? They were anti-Bush protestors, most of them. I wish they'd at least have the nutsack to be honest.

"The United States’ shift in tone towards Syria in recent days, coming in response to a chemical weapons attack in the country, carried out by forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad who are battling anti-regime rebels, can be attributed much in part to Israeli intelligence, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

According to the paper’s national correspondent, Adam Entous, officials say that Israel was able to provide intelligence—later verified by the CIA—directly from the Syrian army unit which controls chemical weapons in the country, and reports directly to Assad. According to Entous, Israel was able to show that the unit had transferred a certain type of chemical weapon and rockets to the area later attacked, killing scores of civilians.

According to Entous, the U.S. administration’s position on whether Syria had, in fact, used chemical weapons in last week’s attack was swayed considerably over the weekend by the new information.

vabeach:

"who knows if Obama's got Congressional approval?

OK... who CARES if Obama's got Congressional approval?"

As far as I know, Obama hasn't received congressional approval and I believe that he should have to have it to attack Syria. Why?

Because like Iraq, these dictators are the only source of stability in these nations and to take them out of power is to create regional destabilization or worsen its destabilization.

Further like Iraq under Saddam, Christians do not have to live day to day in total fear of their Muslim countrymen... In fact during the first desert storm, the Iraqi army had Christians in its ranks.

The rebels offer no such protections to the christians, much less the women who can freely walk around without covering their faces, wearing full head to toe burkas or being banned from leaving the home alone without a male family member such as their husbands.

We may not like the current dictators in power, but they aren't half as bad as the anarchy we will install with the removal of the dictators currently in power.

So who's been to an anti-war protest?

OK... who's *heard* of an anti-war protest?

OK... who knows if Obama's got Congressional approval?

OK... who CARES if Obama's got Congressional approval?

Now it looks like we are attempting to bypass the UN and start military action against Syria. I thought our current administration was all for the international community solving problems through diplomacy. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. What is the ulterior motive to this? We are whipping up an absolute shit storm for no apparent gain! WTF is our president doing?

Leave it alone let them KILL each other. Who really gives a rats ass? 100,000 1/2 a million really don't care both sides are animals. And it is none of our business.

Only way would be if the opposition signed a promise to ally it's self with the US and Israel. And they recognize Israel as an independent state. Other wise FUCK them let them die.
