Syria MUST be bombed. Indiscriminately, Fetus face removed, ISIL annihilated. Install a puppet government, the ONLY way to restore a long term *tranquility*

Not arming the rebels doesn't have to mean doing nothing.

This is the do nothing President.

Staying 'out of the middle east is putting your head in the sand. lol Very unwise.

L indeed stands for Levant.

And Obama was right in being hesitant in arming the opposition. Sticky, dangerous situation.

We need to keep out of the middle east. We already have two tigers by the tail (Afghan and Iraq) so why wade into Syria.

I almost hate saying this but I'm with Obama on this one too.

Hillary Clinton and congressmen alike have called on Obama to arm Syria’s rebels. But the president fumed at lawmakers in a private meeting for suggesting he should’ve done more.

President Obama got angry at lawmakers who suggested in a private meeting that he should have armed the Syrian rebels, calling the criticism “horseshit.”

While I don't give President Obama kudos too often, in this case, I personally say "kudos, Mr. President". The willingness to call horseshit horseshit - as impolite as it may be - is to be commended.

I thought "L" stood for the Levant. It's hard to keep up.

Seeing as Syria is back in the news and very much a part of what's coming down with ISIS or ISIL (Libya) I thought I'd revive this thread....

We are now getting the possibly embellished but still good story of Mr. Abdul Haji, a 39-year-old real estate executive who got a text from his brother while being held hostage in the mall.

He rushed to the mall, not sure what if anything he could do about it, and when he saw an opportunity, the story goes, coordinated the safe evacuation of a few dozen hostages.

A picture being widely circulated shows him reaching his hand out to a 4-year old American girl running for her life to him.

I'm glad that we have people like this... makes having to share the world with the monsters who did this bearable.
