In fact I would like a global dollar.

That would never work for our country. If we could not print out own money we would be in the same shape Grease in in right now. With a world currency the printing of money would be controlled by many countries and we could not print ourselves out of debt as we are trying to do now. We would be screwed.

No system is perfect from the get go... It will be tried again and it will likely work better come the second go around... The third better than the second and so forth until it works.

Democracy took over 4,000 years to actually work... And we see how imperfect it is.

I wasn't really interested in who likes it and who doesn't. More like:

1. Can they do it? (seems like the answer is "probably") 2. What would be the point?

The Euro proved to be a catastrophic idea just as I predicted it would when I was in International Correspondent Banking. Why? because when one country's economy tanks, it creates a domino effect.

Euro is being left behind and European countries are going back to using their currency, precisely because of this.

I am not a fan of this... In fact I would like a global dollar... A global economy over what we have now. It isn't like we are ever going to go to WWIII... That would simply be suicidal and the three top super powers of the world like breathing fresh air, not radioactive air.

VA:

"Kind of like how sometimes cities will issue their own "currency" (generally pegged 1:1 with the US dollar) for certain occasions, and make it legal tender within the city limits. It can be done. But other than for fun, why do it?"

What city did this?
