From Wiki:
Shooting fish in a barrel is an idiom, describing an effortless or simple action, with guaranteed success. The Mythbusters team tested and proved the accuracy of the idiom. If the fish does not die from the shot, it is quite likely to die from the shockwave. Before the days of refrigeration, fish were packed and stored alive in large barrels. The barrels were packed to the rim full of fish. Any shot that entered the barrel would hit at least one of them. Thus nothing can be easier than shooting fish in a barrel. |

Some brave white hunters prefer shooting kippersnacks to shooting fish in a barrel. Idiots out walking around having fun together promoting mayhem seldom notice the tin can has a key to unwind the tin top.

Lets play tricks on the crazy gun shooters. Put up "gun free zone" signs and then we hide with our guns loaded and having 30 round clips and welcome them. Who will their estate sue then?

Everything has to be decided and anticipated on what is going on normally at any specific location. So it is a safe bet that most or even almost all of the time the shooter in a school no gun zone will be unopposed by firearms for the first 3 to 5 minutes of their shooting spree. You notice that they do not go to a shooting range or police station where everyone is armed and give it their best shot. They know that in those locations that they can anticipate an instant armed response. |

"... assurance that they will face no armed resistance for the first 3 to 5 minutes."
Are you saying there are zones where no armed police would ever be, nor any legitimate armed security? Or is a 'gun free zone' actually a place where unauthorized persons may not bring a gun? |

Crackers and canned sardines are proof of the reality that no armed citizen with a gun needs to shoot at fish in a barrel to have lunch.

Some Liberal Jackass should file a law suit against those sign manufacturers as they're obviously defective.

Gun free zone.
It is an area set aside to facilitate the act of murder. These areas are filled with innocent targets so that crazy people who are determined to kill people can do so with the assurance that they will face no armed resistance for the first 3 to 5 minutes. By law these human shooting galleries are defined by type, are easily found on any city map, and posted with signs for the convenience of and easy identification by the murderers. |
