Making insane claims that OWS are more peaceful than the tea protestors (heaven knows I can't stand the tea party, I've made that abundantly clear many, many times). When one of their own defecated in bank lobbies, or raped,stole they immediately disassociated themselves, claiming that it must be a homeless person, or anarchist. These type of people will overlook the most atrocious crimes committed by those whom they support and make excuses for. Not a single rape incident was reported in any of the tea party rallies. Not a single incident of drugs being sold. Not a single incident of defecating, or urinating in banks and other businesses. Not a single incident of antisemitic signs. Yet the some of the Left have the gall to claim that it's the Right that isn't civilized. Odd I tell you, very odd, but the fancy foot work is quite the treat to watch.

Occupy Wall Street is no Tea Party PHOENIX, November 17, 2011—Last month, when the Occupy Wall Street protests began, President Obama compared them to the Tea Party protests, saying, "I understand the frustrations that are being expressed in those protests. In some ways, they’re not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the Tea Party, both on the left and the right.” Was he serious? Obama made sense only if you get all your news from MSNBC or CNN, where they sanitize their reports of the various Occupy movements. To compare what is happening at Zuccotti Park and the other Occupy venues to the Tea Party protests is insane. The drug abuse, rapes, assaults, and arrests that have occurred at the Occupy encampments are completely alien to the tone and spirit of Tea Party events. Consider some of the vile signs at an Occupy protest: "Kill your parents,” “Eat the rich,” and “I’ll believe corporations are people when Texas executes one.” The most violent sentiments you'll find on signs at a Tea Party rally are along the lines of, “Cut the size of government, not our wallet.” They do a lot of hand-wringing at MSNBC about the violence of the right, but not only are Tea Party events free from assault and other violent crimes, participants never carry signs suggesting that you kill your parents or anyone else. The Tea Party has had a clear, unifying objective: Cut spending, eliminate big government, and return to a constitutional republic that our founding fathers intended for. The objectives of Occupy Wall Street are muddled, but so far as they have one, it is to transform the United States into an anti-capitalist, anti-corporate nation. In spite of this, the real contrast between the Occupy and the Tea Party movements isn't ideology, but behavior. Decent people can disagree about the relative merits of socialism and capitalism, but the Occupy movement has more of the character of a mob, and mobs are violent. The sexual assaults and other violent crimes that have occurred at Occupy encampments clearly distinguish the difference in character between the two movements. The first report of sexual abuse at an Occupy event was on October 18, when a Seattle man was arrested for indecent exposure to children at least five times. This man was taking part in the Occupy Seattle protest. Another report of rape happened on November 2, when police arrested an Occupy Wall Street participant for raping two women, one of whom was a minor. On that same day, police officers in Dallas arrested a man for sexually assaulting a 14 year-old girl at the Occupy Dallas encampment. That certainly has happened at the Tea Party rallies, right? No. There hasn’t been a single report of rape at any Tea Party protest. Unfortunately, these three reports only scratch the surface. There have been many more cases of rape and sexual assault at dozens of Occupy encampments. Just last week, three Occupy Boston protesters were arrested for selling crack cocaine. The problem is so severe that the Boston police have begun to embed undercover police officers into the camps to find and arrest drug dealers. Drug use at the Tea Party protests has yet to be reported. Occupy Wall Street protesters have begun defecating in banks, knocking police officers off their motorcycles, desecrating the American flag, hurling racial slurs at NYPD officers, vandalizing police cars, pushing old women down stair cases, and violently attacking police officers, and the list goes on. I find them as a whole to be MUCH more engaged and informed citizens than you or your personal orbit of financial 'movers and shakers'. The wave IS coming, make no mistake. OWS is simply the bleeding edge of that wave. The entire WORLD is getting more brown and less white, it's sheer numbers both here and in Europe. The question you need to ask is do you assimilate or annihilate? So far, to what I can see, you have chosen the latter...

Well, other than the problems with getting a HoverRound over the curbs and the perils of running with a walker I think the tea baggers would have been much more violent. After all, they WERE full of 'Second Amendment solutions' and all manner of other threats.... The vast majority of the violence at the OWS demonstrations were caused directly BY THE POLICE, not the protesters. In case after case, the protesters were simply sitting or standing when attacked by police without provocation. Very few and mostly unrelated violent groups (anarchists with a far different agenda for the most part) got a pejorative amount of 'coverage' in the media, especially on Fox, who had the most urgent agenda of them all. As usual Mark, your argument is spurious (well, your C&P anyway), largely spin and poorly researched.

So what is he saying here, that just because they conducted themselves as "saints" we should vote for them? Personally I don't give two shits about that or for that matter if they acted like "hellions." What I care about is what they stand for and that is a platform that wants us to live back in the 14th century. I could never vote for anyone who wants to teach our children that the world is only six or seven thousand years old and that a women's body knows when to shut down, so she cannot get pregnant if she was raped. Mr. Doyle makes the same mistake most of you do here. That is accusing President Obama of being Far Left, which simply is not true. On the other hand the "Tea Party" IS far Right and one is just as bad as the other. I wonder how long you would enjoy living in America if a Pat Robertson type were POTUS? I'm guessing not very. Honestly I see no difference between a Right Wing Radical and an Islamic terrorist. They are two sides of the same coin. The conduct of the Tea Party brings outrage and scorn from those on the left because of the outcome at the ballot box on November 2010, when the control of the House of Representatives was rested from the party in power, by the power of the people. To this day, the Tea Party continues to be portrayed by this president and his followers as obstructionist, anti-progressive, and intolerant. Why? Because it is easier than taking a good look in the mirror at his own record of failure. The president’s policies and spending habits have not put America in a better light at home or abroad. In most instances, they have made matters worse: Policies tinged with class warfare and partisan divisiveness; spending tainted with subsidies and special favors for political campaign contributors; feel good environmental regulations tinged with far left ideology, which strangle industries like coal and oil through preferential treatment toward unsustainable green energy programs; the new status quo of governance tainted by corruption, deception, and scandal clothed in the shining empty promise of hope and change. I have prayed for this president’s well-being and success in days past and I pray for him still. Even though I am not a member of his party, I love America and want her to prosper in spite of his failed policies. Though I disagree with much of what the president has attempted to do in his administration thus far, I would never hope for him to fail. His failure means America’s failure. But lately I have prayed to God for clarity as well as an unveiling of reality beyond the spin of the press. I believe the presidential debates have been an answer to prayer in some respects. The American people have listened more intently to the two candidates. There has been an opportunity to see clear contrasts in the candidates’ positions and visions for America’s future; to see the candidates as the human beings they are (not cast as boogeymen by negative ad campaigns.) The presidential debates have been the golden opportunity to reasonably consider what the president said he would do before taking office, what he claims he has done, and what has transpired during his term in office, which he must take full responsibility for now. His opponent is not his predecessor, nor a boogeyman, and has his own record to offer. It is the record of both men that matters in this election. The president now owns a record that stands alone. He cannot blame his predecessor any longer. He owns the record of a lethargic economy, unraveling foreign policy in the Middle East, and the massive increase in the size of government, as well as an even larger national deficit. It may not make you feel good this time around to vote against the candidate whose record resulted in the tiniest tinge of hope and a paltry pocketful of tainted change. But will four more years of the tinge and taint from his style of status quo of governance realistically make your life any better? Consider the record and remember to vote on November 6. User Details are only visible to members.	2 of 3 On the other hand, the president had promises to keep and an agenda to implement: Closing down Guantanamo Bay as a prison for captured Islamic terrorists; reforming our immigration system; ending the war in Iraq; remaking the perception of American influence around the world; extending affordable health care to every American; and ending the partisan gridlock in Washington (to name but a few.) But there was also the troubling matter of our national debt and deficit, which needed to be addressed. Balancing a budget could always be handled later. The economy was heading into a recession as a result of his predecessor’s policies, not his. Real reform was what was needed. It was time to spend some political capital. So the president, instead of tinkering with the machinery to find and fix the root problems of our economic malaise, took a sweeping turn to the left, taking advantage of his power and, in the process, ignored the opposition. Forward! His remedies began with the infusion of more stimulus spending into the public sector, expanding the size of government. In response, the private sector became increasingly smaller. The tinge of the president’s new policies gave the appearance of positive, progressive thinking and good intention. Yet if a program did not succeed it was not discussed. It was far easier to blame the former occupant for an economic downturn or collapse, than for the current White House resident to accept responsibility for failed policies and programs on his watch. The press was generally duplicitous and silent in the presence of failure. However, over time leaks of information and scandals could not be contained. Conservative talk-radio and Fox News helped spill the beans on issues with ACORN, Solyndra, the GSA, the NLRB, Fast and Furious, and other scandals tied to the president’s preferences, policies, and practices. The costs of hope and change grew insurmountable in the absence of purposeful accountability and the presence of a fawning press. Few Americans can fathom spending a million dollars in a year let alone billions in one day. Yet that is what happens in Washington, DC, every day. We place our trust in our president and Congress to do the right thing even when uncertainty and controversies over spending arise. And arise they have, so much so that they now abound. In spite of his rhetoric and assurances, a tinge of smoke could be seen through the mirrors reflecting back the president’s policies and practices. Now, more than ever, voters are becoming increasingly aware of the image of a burning American flag draped ominously in the background as our president speaks. After two debates with his current challenger, it appears the president has nary the political pail of water, the will, nor the wherewithal to put out the flames. He still has plenty of gas though. He seems content to fan the flames of our fears like an energy-efficient windmill driven by the breath of his empty rhetoric. The ever-present taint of corruption and malfeasance once again lingers over the hallowed corridors of our nation’s capitol. And taxpayers, like you and me, are left holding the IOU. A few years ago, a group of law-abiding taxpayers organized into a grass-roots organization called the Tea Party. They held peaceful rallies throughout the country to protest the president’s spending policies. The president’s party vilified them. The Tea Party continues to be characterized by the media as a group of mean-spirited, gun-toting racists whose only aim was to unseat a Black president. That remains a vulgar misrepresentation of that organization and is an abject lie. Anyone expounding such canards should be ashamed.

Page 1 of 3 Status Quo of Governance Four years ago, many Americans heard a voice that spoke of hope as if it was the cure for all of the economic uncertainties and challenges our nation would face. We saw a confident and younger man whose smile assured us that a fundamental change of the landscape and partisan politics in Washington, DC, was possible; the remedy for all our woes. And the message of hope and change seemed preferable to the static rhetoric of the more conservative candidate intent on maintaining a status quo of governance. To make things even more attractive, the image of this promising presidential candidate reminded Americans that ethnic equality mattered to them. It gave them an opportunity to make history as well as a personal statement. By casting their ballots against racial intolerance and the limitations of any perceived color barrier, they felt better about themselves. It was a chance to make a first in history and sweep in refreshing reforms to a stale style of government; dismantling the dreadful machinery of two wars many believed had been waged on false pretense; a chance to be vindicated for opposing a presidential candidate eight years earlier, whom some were certain had stolen an election. Upon this backdrop, victory was achieved for the hope and change candidate. And with the passing of the mantle of power into the hands of a more liberal president, came something that many did not bargain for: Four years of tinge and taint. On the one hand, this new president had a blank check upon which to write and enact real government reform. The agent of change in the White House had party majorities in both houses of Congress. In other words, whatever legislative reforms he wished to pass could be done purely along partisan lines if opposition arose across the aisle. All this president had to do was convince his own party members in Congress to pass the needed legislation, and the other party would be powerless to stop him. Indeed, he had a blank check and could set spending priorities in whatever manner desired.
