"What republicans are 'distancing' themselves from their Nominee????????? That's all just silly talk."

Silly talk? The Rep. nominees for US Senate in Mass, Conn, and Nev all issued statements.

"It wasn't a telepromter spoken, written speech."

It was a private fund raising dinner, where Romney for the most part is answering questions, with no teleprompter. I hope most Americans view the whole video, I am only part way through it, and this is the Romney that needs to be campaigning. He has humor, he answers questions honestly. If Romney had been doing this in public over the campaign even with the so called gaffe(truth) he would have the white house. Romney is very personable and warm in this environment, if people watch it they will like him. If he can display a personality to the public he will win, but he is losing time.

If it is 5-10%, it IS absurd.

As discussed in some posts a month or so ago about drug tests for welfare recipients, it turned out that less than 5% were coming back positive.

This is fairly typical. There have been many analyses of many government programs and they always come back showing that fraud and abuse constitutes small percentages (in single digits) of overall expenditures.

Just a little info for you..........Bill Kristol isn't any kind of king to most Republicans.

"Down-ticket Republicans also have started distancing themselves from Romney "

THIS is where the rubber meets the road IMHO. The presidency has become a 'land-locked' title in American politics. If the Dems can shake loose the Repubs advantage in the states, Congress and judicial elections, THAT would be progress I could believe in!

I STILL predict that Obama will 'pull an FDR' and call the electorate to remove as many Repubs from office as possible.

Kristol didn't pummel Romney in my opinion. What republicans are 'distancing' themselves from their Nominee????????? That's all just silly talk.

"Only people making a fuss about it are those trying to distract from Obama's failure."

Wrong. I've mentioned Kristol and Brooks, only two of the many conservatives who have pummeled Romney on this. Down-ticket Republicans also have started distancing themselves from Romney over this. Besides, what's wrong with one campaign making hay over stupid things the opponent says? It has happened since politics began.

Bingo Dan!

The Left is milking this for all they can, if they can have their constituent's attention deflected, they wont think about the spiraling economy, the out of control gas prices, the unemployment and an epically failed Foreign Policy.

So if it's 20% it's absurd What if it's 40%, still absurd.

But you have no clue what it is, but you know it absurd. LOL! It wasn't a telepromter spoken, written speech. It was off the cuff remarks that are basically true, used to make a point. Only people making a fuss about it are those trying to distract from Obama's failure.

Ok!

So we don't know. Romney doesn't either.

Last night, while watching the news with Diane Sawyer, they were covering this brouhaha. They claimed that Obama made a similar statement during the 2008 campaign. To his advantage though, he said it seven months before the elections. Romney's video came out 51 days before the election.
