It appears that Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act is going to be overturned.

Justice Scalia stated that the continuance of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act symbolized the "perpetuation of racial entitlement."

Liberal judges argued that Section 5 is still necessary, because it helps the Justice Department and courts, to keep discrimination out of the polling places.

What do you think?

As most people with a 6th grade education or higher already know, and as virtually every federal court has ruled, it's unconstitutional

Well maybe I should have been more clear. Go into the hospital for a scheduled surgery and you will need an ID. How's that??

No you won't...Emergency surgery is done on John/Jane doe all the time and voting is a constitutional right, surgery is not.......no voter ID...move on

LOL try to go to the hospital for surgery. They will need your ID to admit you. Just the FACTS. You may not need an insurance card but you will need an ID.

If you want your doctor to submit your claim you need to show ID and insurance card.

...As for section 5, the fact that some oppose it, is proof we still need it...end of story
