This treaty has no impact on US ..actually it was modeled using our Disabilities Act..126 countries ratified it..but us...shame. And did you see what happened in Texas by cutting all the funding to Planned Parenthood check this out: for the year 2014-2015: Estimated new born babies born in poverty: 23,760 dependent on wellfare Cost to tax payer: $273 million Cost to the stage: $108 million yea if you are preborn you are protected if you are preschool you are fucked..way to go republicans, now they try to amend their bullshit to restore funding...ha ha ha ha... pathetic.

Lol, death panels?

Here is a death panel/forced abortion for you. POVERTY!

Poor women without support cannot raise good children. Disabled poor women can't raise bad kids either. So their logical options are what? Abortion.

So now a panel of ignorant old men have prescribed death as a solution... Once again.

Someone should explain to the righties the concept of placing the cart behind the horse, not in front of it.

" The problem was not the treaty itself. There were no financial costs associated or binding red tape. Instead, the problem was a far-Right drumbeat that any international treaty represents a surrender of sovereignty.

"Added urgency was provided by a misinformation campaign that tried to turn the principle of compassion and dignity on its head; arguing that the treaty could somehow usurp parental rights and force abortions in a dystopian future.

"It was a riff of the old Death Panel argument - the notion that health care reforms would mean bureaucrats deciding who should live and who be allowed to die - pushed this time most prominently by right wing commentator Glenn Beck and ... Rick Santorum,..."

Should we expect anything less from the party that brought us trickle down economics, the tea party, pro-life/anti abortion (to include life and limb of thr mother) but pro execution, anti contraception and generally religious zealots?

They do not read law, if they did, they would know that no UN treaty can override the US rule of law within our boarders.

The world is laughing at us...Introducing 38 Republican U.S. Senators (no Democrat voted against ratification) who looked at their former leader, Senator Bob Dole, now retired, 89-years old, and in a wheelchair, and voted against the disabled.
