I think Mccain told the truth in Detroit and paid for it big time. And people bitch and moan about politicians being dishonest. If they are, it's because we have a difficult time accepting harsh truths. Especially when it concerns our own back yards. I personally think the idea of redistributing wealth, using "Rich vs Poor" class warfare, playing the race and gender cards, calling our troops torturers from one side of your mouth and "heroes" out the other, and double taxing the dead because they made allot of money and wants to leave that money to their kids instead of the government is anti-American. But of course those aren't "Progressive" Positions are they?

So how do the GOP and conservatively inclined in this Forum feel about Romney's proposals for the government to bail out the auto industry?

Isn't that socialism? Isn't that communistic? What's the government doing getting involved in the marketplace and private enterprise?

If an industry is failing, let it fail, right?

Or do you Republicans want to join with Romney in a willingness to subsidize and help out the auto industry the same way Republicans in the South are always voting to subsidize and help out the tobacco industry?

Romney is in favor of a: $20 billion package for energy research & new car technology. Why all this corporate welfare for big oil and auto industry? Sounds Commie to me, doesn't it to you, Destin?

The health insurance plan Romney claims credit for in Massachusetts also has mandates for health care coverage that Destin condemns as socialism when Hillary says the same thing.

When the Democrats got into a bickering debate about who said what the conservatives on this board said they were acting like schoolchildren and weren't fit to be President. After last nights debate would you be non biased enough to say the same about McCain and Romney?

I thought Ron Paul actually looked the best if he wasn't so crazy

The biggest difference between Hillery and Repubs is She is saying one thing but is gonna do another and the repubs are saying we'll finish it in Iraq.

OK lets....Its mainly because there are not a lot of differences Immagration however is weak no matter which one you talk about, The Economy? I believe this is a hickup and shall pass. Liberal press has propagated this and pushed in the face of all of us. It will pass and we will over come. The war in Iraq well we know what it is all about there we wont be on the run anytime soon. That could be said about dems as well. No president on either side will do it especially Hillary. The debate last night meant nothing in my decision making. However I am inclined to endorse John McCain for President of The United States.

Republican Mitt Romney accused John McCain of using dirty tricks by suggesting the former Massachusetts governor wanted a deadline for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq, in a spirited debate Wednesday night that underscored the intensity of their presidential rivalry.

Alright, how about this last debate. I caught most of it, while making dinner and such.

One comment on style-Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to seat them behind kindergarten desks???

I really don't have any opinion on who won. Funny, I thought they all had a position or two that I could support. But, overall, SOS. Just like the Democratic debate tomorrow, SOS.

No one who is a red meat conservative this time around.

However, even Bill Bennett is looking forward to the "prize fight" tomorrow.
