IMO, The lines are getting too blurry to continue saying you're either one or the other unless you are hard right or hard left. The term "Independant" is too wish-washy. It has to go and be replaced with something people can hitch a wagon to.

User Details are only visible to members.	In my post about the idea of Republicans to "reach out" to minorities I also mentioned that policies count. To clarify, to get them to vote Republican, the goals and policies have to resonate with the people you want to attract. You have to somehow show them that their values and concerns are the same as yours and that your proposed solutions and your record is better than the competition. So far, Republicans haven't succeeded even though they have leadership rising in their party that are far from being "wasps". In my own opinion, I don't think that Latinos are necessarily biased toward one party or the other even though they have voted Democratic for the most part. A change in a million votes in the last election distributed in certain states could well have brought a different outcome. This is why each party has to keep working hard at their goals and not assume continued support (nor continued rejection) from certain constituencies.
