I thought maybe in Louisiana it would be a sugar beet.

In Hazleton, PA it's a 5 1/4" floppy disk.

No. Down south the expression is blood from a turnip. We're agrarian, after all.

Does the expression with regards to "blood from a stone" not mean anything from you?

Once again I must agree with Outdoors. We need an amendment guaranteeing free drum rolls for all. I suggest paying for them with a surtax on mine watchmen.

It's a sad state of affairs when the comic has to provide his own drum roll.

As civilization progresses, government should get better, not worse. Repressive regimes all over the world have been dropping like flies for some time now. That's how democracy works. Even in countries where nobody even remembers good government, the people demand it.

Every so often, the American voting populace falls for some flim flam artist like Reagan. Eventually the mistake is recognized. In the meantime, we have somewhat a balance of power that prevents any one party or administration from taking over entirely.

Media is as powerful as ever. It's not that hard to sort the truth from the lies. When someone has lied to you, and they won't admit it, don't ever believe them again.

That was far too easy.

"you appear to be avoiding my thrust"

That's exactly what I said once to a chick with a tender cervix. Ba da bump.

Yes that’s true but you appear to be avoiding my thrust here. Just because an administration conforms to your current world view doesn’t make everything it does the right thing. Conservatives all over the country fell over themselves to relinquish privacy and liberty for a false promise of security because Bush was in office when it was proposed. We now have the government admitting that it watches all forms of communication that goes on without a warrant.

The government I have today isn’t the one I had yesterday……

A country that votes such people into power deserves what happens to them.
