OK, here's an idea for a thread which I'm pretty sure will be derailed anyway, but let's give it a go.

Bonus points when the bad behavior is especially contradictory to a position the politician in question is well known to take (such as a rabid anti-gay politician caught bangin' male prostitutes).

In case you want to feel like Donald Trump might not be so bad....

Philippine presidential frontrunner Rodrigo Duterte has shocked the political establishment in recent weeks, surging to a clear lead in opinion surveys before the May 9 election with a campaign full of swear words and promises to end crime by killing tens of thousands of criminals.

In an address to the nation's premier group of business figures on Wednesday, Mr Duterte defended his history of womanising.

"I was separated from my wife. I'm not impotent. What am I supposed to do? Let this hang forever?" Mr Duterte said, referring to his penis, as people in the crowd laughed.

"When I take Viagra, it stands up."

Mr Duterte, 71, had earlier on the campaign trail said he had two mistresses but reassured taxpayers they would not cost much, because he kept them at cheap boarding houses and took them to short-time hotels for sex.

Mr Duterte has also boasted about running vigilante death squads during his many years as mayor of Davao, the biggest city in the southern Philippines.

He once said the death squads had killed 1,700 people.

However he has at other times denied any links to the vigilante groups, which have attracted fierce criticism from human rights groups and the United Nations.

A key part of Mr Duterte's campaign has been a pledge to eradicate crime nationwide in the first six months of his presidency by ordering security forces to kill criminals.

In his speech to the Makati Business Club, Mr Duterte again promised that his presidency "will be a bloody one".

He promised to pardon soldiers or police officers if they were charged with rights abuses.

"I will issue 1,000 pardons a day," Mr Duterte said.

He said the constitution also allowed the president to pardon himself for crimes, and he would do so at the end of his term.

"Pardon given to Rodrigo Duterte for the crime of multiple murder, signed Rodrigo Duterte," he said, as people in the crowed laughed.

Surveys have shown Mr Duterte is particularly popular among the nation's wealthy and middle class, who fear rising crime.

Mr Duterte last week joked that he had wanted to rape a "beautiful" Australian missionary, who was sexually assaulted and murdered by inmates in a 1989 prison riot in Davao.

"I was mad she [the missionary] was raped but she was so beautiful. I thought, the mayor should have been first," he said at a rally.

Tennessee House Speaker Beth Harwell banished Rep. Jeremy Durham to a new office building Thursday and limited his access to staff after a scathing Tennessee attorney general report found the Franklin Republican engaged in inappropriate physical contact and potentially poses a "continuing risk to unsuspecting women."

"Based upon the information gathered thus far, Representative Durham's alleged behavior may pose a continuing risk to unsuspecting women who are employed by or interact with the legislature," Attorney General Herbert Slatery said in a letter to House officials.

In accordance with the attorney general's findings, Harwell, R-Nashville, is limiting Durham's access to certain legislative buildings — including moving his office across the street — and he has been barred from having contact with almost all staff or interns as the investigation continues.

Slatery's findings come after a Tennessean investigation published in January found women who said they had received inappropriate text messages from Durham. The lawmaker has told The Tennessean he doesn't remember sending the messages, and he has denied sexually harassing anyone. As of last week, Durham plans to run for re-election.

A lot of people study or enter into fields related to mental illness, because they fear that they have such an illness... Some do, others do not.

She needs mental help... Anyway, it's a none issue. It's her personal life bullshit, nothing political.

Maryland state Delegate Ariana Kelly (D - Montgomery) was charged with trespassing and indecent exposure in July after she arrived at her ex-husband’s home to drop off their kids and learned that his girlfriend was inside. According to police, she started banging on the door and ringing the bell repeatedly and, aware that her husband had a camera trained on the doorway, she faced it, exposed her breasts and shook them, one in each hand, toward the lens. Eventually, she dared an officer to arrest her. (The Washington Post reported that Kelly is a member of a legislative task force studying maternal mental health issues.)

Melih Gökçek, the Mayor of Ankara (Turkey) since 1994 is currently being sued after unveiling a 20-foot-tall metal robot in the city.

Taxpayers hit the roof when the Mayor pulled the sheet off his Transformer-like masterpiece, saying it is an enormous waste of their money – and rightly so, as he blew a pretty big budget on it.

The off-the-wall mayor is now being sued by the Turkish Union of Engineers and Architects’ Chambers, who have described the robot as a ‘monstrosity’. After the public backlash, Gökçek simply replied ‘Respect the robot’, which surprisingly only made things worse.
