One sees these people claiming to have been involved in secret missions, top secret operations with seals and other.... That they are experts in all things military and that they know more about todays wars we fight (despite these people not being in uniform for the last 20 or so years) than those of use who have served in the last 4 years and have friends in the service today.

It isn't the flag, it isn't a piece of paper written by men long dead. It is the people and ensuring that the people are provided for. That is what the strong live for, to protect their people and their way of life. You and your people are a dying breed, a throw back to a less evolved mentality of greed and individualism which has historically only brought ruin and destruction through its never ending greed and lust for more money. Give me medical and meaningful employment... Hell just give me medical and a job that allows me to save up enough to educate myself and I really don't have much need for much else. Your kid can't even do this much. You are too busy worrying about how to take every last penny from someone, how to push people harder and faster and for less. That is the very definition of exploitation and it leads to one road and one road only... Slavery by any other definition. May that slavery be with chains and whips or may it be by economics. It is a form of slavery by which you assure that you and your children rule and all others serve you. As a veteran of the US military, I find this offensive, I find you and your mentality offensive. As a sim-educated individual (when compared to half of my peers that I know to include my sisters) I know one fact above all others. Your way of life will end in the next 50 years as you and your kind, the last vantages of uncontrolled greed will finally grow old and die... Perhaps this is the only advantage of old age, the fact that we the scared and brutalized by life will leave it... and if any merciful being exist... leave our children with the knowledge that greed and individualism as displayed by your generation has brought only misery and suffering upon a nation which born out of the worlds greatest and most costly war had failed in its obligation to provide a better world for everyone.

User Details are only visible to members.	Even those who didn't bear arms but grew up during the Cold War have been trained to believe they're surrounded by enemies. As the Soviet menace receded, other "enemies" filled the void. Gays. Feminists (or "feminazis"). Liberals. Minorities. Immigrants. Muslims. Anyone who doesn't look and talk like you. Anyone who has ideas you never heard before some tender age. Any agent of change creates uncertainty, trepidation, fear of the unknown. Surprises are mostly bad. We can't see the future, so we prefer the past.

I have noticed some interesting correlations with the political right on these fourms. 1) most are self discribed special ops, infantrymen, Vietnam vet's. 2) most are avide gun rights activist wanting automatic weapons such as the AR-15 which appears very similar to the M-16/M4. 3) most assum that the government has been taken over by communist or socialist... The very people the Vietnam veterans fought in Korea, vietnam and the cold war. I wonder if the cold war has had some kind of effect on their minds to have trapped them perminately in a start of fear? During Korea, Vietnam and throughout the cold war, the training was that the bad guy was everywhere. This type of training is useful in surviving war, but it also fosters extreme paranoia. As these mostly republican men grew from boyhood into adult hood (18-25) they were subjected to these extremes... And lived in the worst conditions imaginable, made to fear and believe that if it isn't a US American, it is the enemy. Now one cannot say for sure that this is the case as there are lefties and centrist who weren't so damaged by these wars and the training... But we must remember that every population has those more subseptable to fear... And propaganda. When one is forced to find anything to hold onto in war, they can be made into extremist... I wonder if this is why the tea party is primarily made up of late 40 to elderly, fear the government, fear change, fear anyone unlike the selves type of people? What are your thoughts?
