User Details are only visible to members.	Seriously? Say it ain't so, Joe... An idget here recently shot his granddaughter, who was outside while he was inside, because he heard a "prowler". He just started shooting blindly in the dark, had no idea who or what he was shooting at. She survived. He should have never owned a gun, and perhaps just as important, he shouldn't have been allowed to reproduce.

Republicans can almost follow Biden around with a camera and a microphone and have enough gold to get them into the White House in 2016. The newest nugget of brilliance from the Vice President of the United States – the man that is a heartbeat away from being your president – was uttered on Monday in an interview with Field & Stream Magazine. When they asked about whether the assault rifles and high-capacity magazines should be allowed for self-defense or target practice, the second-in-command had this to say (via the Washington Examiner): Well, the way in which we measure it is—I think most scholars would say—is that as long as you have a weapon sufficient to be able to provide your self-defense,” Biden said. “I did one of these town-hall meetings on the Internet and one guy said, “Well, what happens when the end days come? What happens when there’s the earthquake? I live in California, and I have to protect myself.” I said, “Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.” Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semiautomatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming. We can argue whether that’s true or not, but it is no argument that, for example, a shotgun could do the same job of protecting you. Now, granted, you can come back and say, “Well, a machine gun could do a better job of protecting me.” No one’s arguing we should make machine guns legal. Umm. This is unbelievable. Gun safety, anyone?

User Details are only visible to members.	LOL I don't need no data, tables, charts etc. to tell my shoulder what the "kick" is from a gun. I've had a bruised shoulder from firing just a few slugs or turkey loads for that matter through a gas operated semi-auto 12 gauge shotgun. The woman I mentioned had a slide action 12 gauge shotgun using a slug, which will "kick' more than a gas operated shotgun firing the same cartridge. I've never had a bruised shoulder from firing a .30-30. Felt recoil depends on the geometry of the stock, weight of the gun, weight of the projectile, velocity/chamber pressure, etc., etc. Ask someone who knows about such things. I know nothing about guns. :-) If double negatives bother you, replace "any" for "no" in my first sentence.

It reminds me of a buddy who gave his wife a shotgun with slugs to hunt deer for her first time, while he used a .30-30 rifle. He felt she would be better able to handle a shotgun than a rifle. Too funny. For those wondering why that's funny, the recoil from a shotgun slug compared to the recoil from a .30-30 is like comparing being kicked by a mule to being kicked by a baby.
