He has lied since day one. I don't think the brain washed ones will care. They will still say how great he is.

Obama is afraid that if we go on just fine after the cuts, people will start to understand they have been lied to. Then they might just pull back the curtain on the Wizard of DC.

I think the cuts should go through. We need to cut spending. But Obama is making all these dire predictions but yet we are sending money over seas. Maybe he should send it to the head start program he says will by effected by the cuts. After all he cares so much about our kids as he keeps saying.

What if we gave the President everything he wants?

Maybe everyone who wants a job would have one, and we all would have health care?

Infrastructure would be improved, and global warming would be averted, and our children and grandchildren would actually have a future?

What does anything anyone replied back to me have to do with anything I wrote?

It's not honest to describe a reduction of increases as a "cut".

It's not honest to claim that a reduction of increases is going to bring the country to a grinding halt.

It wasn't honest to claim that we had a tax problem instead of a spending problem.

VB, why haven't green energy initiatives "solved" global warming? Because at the level we're investing, and the late start we've gotten, it just continues to snowball. The best we can hope for in 2013 is that it won't get worse quite as fast as it would have with no initiatives.

If no guns were sold starting tomorrow, we'd still have gun murders, because there are still millions of guns in the hands of angry and desperate people. Such issues don't just get "fixed" in an instant or in a year.

Robert, We should not be sending weapons to Egypt either. You missed the point. Obama is telling all that we will go down the tubes so to speak. But they are going to send aid to a country that never has been pro-western. And as far as the Muslim statement so be it.

VA:

The American public doesn't care where the money comes form, what to know why? Because most of us don't have any savings what so ever. Why?

Because the minimum to live in society is either at or greater than what we are being paid. While those at the very top keep increasing their personal wealth with one method or another... But aren't trickling that wealth down to the people at the bottom.

Thus trickle down economics doesn't work. It like your example are tricks and lies to keep people from seeing that we can't balance our budgets until those at the top bleed more.

Now would it be more efficient for the rich to cut themselves? To pay their employees further down the lines better and require those employees to pay the ones further down from them more. Yes. Why?

because you wouldn't need government employees to tax and review as lengthy tax sheets. You wouldn't need as many government offices for welfare and other programs, you wouldn't need as big of a government as we have now.

Why don't you capitalist do this? Because you think you owe the public nothing. In so doing you show no patriotism to this nation and as such you destroy this nation with the need of welfare programs.

Welfare does destroy a nation, violent revolution because the masses are hungry destroy's it faster.

So when faced with two bad options, you are left with choosing the slow road to death, in hopes that the rich wise up and bleed themselves more so that the government mustn't change to socialism or communism to take care of the angry mobs which will form.

If you think this nation is or is becoming socialist or communist now? Wait another 20 years and ask yourself. How socialist were we in the 1920s and now socialist were we in the 1950s, then ask how socialist we became by 2000. After that, ask yourself how many more social programs were created by 2033.

This aid to Syria is called "humanitarian assistance". It's what good people do.

Vacp:

"Still if we have no money for our own needs why send money to a bunch of Muslims."

Let me rephrase this as how you should have worded it, so to not be racist.

Still if we have no money for our own needs why send money to anyone else?

While on the surface, I generally agree, there are reasons to give money to other nations which aren't related to conflict.

1) Global social welfare so that nations can eventually rise out of the muck that they are in. (for what ever reason they are there.)

2) If you are the only one able to buy your own product, then no one is buying any products from you and thus your companies go out of business and your status of living plumits... Kinda like it currently is for most Americans.

3) to prevent instability within the nation itself. Case in point Egypt. Sadly by backing a dictator, we lost the public support and created more instability. This is why China and Russia choose who they support a lot more carefully and typically choose to support those closer to home with the greatest amount of their foreign aid.

For the US, that would be we supporting Mexico like we do many middle east nations.
