The law will do nothing and will be overturned if they take it to court. If they want to try and fix the problem they need to start with mental health. And if they really cared about the kids they would stop abortions.

In NYC anyway. I have a relative who Shot a person through the neck when they tried to evade him. the suspect lived, although he was never quite the same after the incident.

He was docked 4 personal days for damaging a car window in the incident. Let's just say that times have changed.

Looking as it should be, police and military should only be allowed to have the same weapons as the population. NYC police can't hit the broad side of barn anyway. But they are experts at shooting innocent bystanders.

All Gov Cuomo "IL DULCE" did was make a difficult decision easier for me. I have done what I could , the changed so be it. The best part is NOW I too can DRAW off of NYS To the tune of @ 80k a year, Tax free I might add, Plus my Insuranc ecoverages, and life insurance from the state. Currently taxes on my property is @ 14k a year. Sure whomever buys it will be paying that, but My usage fee's will be NIL, I will not spend one Dime , nothing NADA. Now I know my take away is small potato's compared to everyone else left in the state, but when you see more and more retiree's leaving the state and taking thier money, without spending a dime in state.... It will add up. Add to this equation that my business is NY based, I can move it to Pa, yet still legally work in NY and take that money with me, although I will pay NYS income taxes on that money , it will still end up going over to Pa.

another side note to this declining numbers in the state... By state constitution all retiree's have to be paid prior to any other bill in the state each month ( thanks Lawmakers who sought this for themselves), an retirement is gauranteed to all State retiree's not to be changed even if the state declared bankruptcy.

"Oakland and Chicago are both having a great year for homicides and did last year as well. They both have some of the most stringent gun laws, actually anti gun laws, in this nation. Those laws have totally failed to curb their gun crime ..."

As was described in another thread, Chicago's murder rate in the last few years is about half what it was before the strict handgun laws came along.

This is another example of progress, even if it is only halfway to perfection. "Totaly failed " is not a fitting analysis of the situation.

Of course, as long as the bigger part of the country has lax gun regulation, it's quite easy to bring guns illegally into Oakland and Chicago. That's exactly why the whole country needs and wants uniform restrictions.

damn it is late. the city folks have a distinct culture that is based around their needs and those needs are not the same as the needs of those who do not live in the city. that makes more since....

Outdoors you are right and you are wrong and it all has to do with where you live in this country. The people who live in an area of high density population have a distinct culture that is based around their culture. That culture is no where near the same as those of us who live far from mass transit and the beehive socialist cities. and all cities are much more socialist than the rural and country areas. Oakland and Chicago are both having a great year for homicides and did last year as well. They both have some of the most stringent gun laws, actually anti gun laws, in this nation. Those laws have totally failed to curb their gun crime so their answer is to punish everyone else because their laws did not work. So we can draw from that that just because you live in a city it does not mean that you are more civilized than the areas with very lax gun laws. See it does not fit. it doesn't fit because it is apples and oranges. The cultures are very, very, different which means that the answers for Oakland and Chicago will never fit most of the rest of the country. From where I sit the more civilized people are those of us who live far from the cities and we don't mind at all having guns around or with us. As long as my 40 stays on my belt or on my ankle no kids are going to get a hold of it. There is truth to the old saying that an armed society is a polite society. The numbers clearly demonstrate that young black American males were safer fighting the war in Iraq than they were on the streets of the inner cities at home. Strange but true. And there were a lot of guns over there.
