Norc:
Thus why I state understanding, education, study and little action. A national mental health initiative would arm people for action and provide the evidence what ever it is that is discovered. "Granted 95% of the evidence on violence is already in... But having more of it and a bigger club to use for my side to beat both of your sides senseless with..." Robert smiles. "Would be a most enjoyable tool to have." |

The trouble with the fantasy of a "civilized society" is that everyone who lives there is not civilized and society can not protect people from them.
The idea of this pure civilized society has never happened on the face of this earth. It is just feel good words and pure BS. |

Reid in Nevada is going to be fun to watch. He has a high rating from the NRA.... he will either go along with the dictator and commit political suicide or go against the new king and be ostracized by the white house.
The folks in Nevada hate gun control by a vast majority. |

None of the great plains or western states will put up with much gun control except for cali and washington.
Most of those states are red but the cities have all the votes. |

Outdoor:
So when will the left adapt to civilization? I see no major push for mental health. No initiative to actually do something meaningful and trade the seats we will lose over this stupidity for something tangible and long lasting. Mental health on a national scale, tied into our medical system, will provide solutions to a great many of our social illnesses... But if you remain focused on trivial matters which won't stop mass killings, you will have neither and loose what you call a civilized society. To me civilized societies expand their understanding of why, someone does something, not ban tools. |

If you sell your house and move, or open a business, based on today's state laws, then what do you do when your new home state enacts similar laws?
Maybe all the gun nuts end up in one or two "gun states" -- Texas and Wyoming, perhaps? Or maybe they learn to adapt to civilization. |
