I think it should be made entertaining....pay per view....or public execution......I'd rather it be public, I'm cheap that way...

Actually, as presently constituted, with appeals, the death penalty is more expensive.

What is cheaper? The Death penalty or life in prison?

well I'm not infavor of the death penalty, in the form it's in today. Take to damn long to execute them. I am for a speedy fair trail then a first rate speedy execution of sentance. All these appeals while the victims family await justice drain the system. I would be infavor of no DP and life without parole if the prison system wasn't so cozy. Why should these people sit in prison the rest of their life, get cable tv, internet access a law library, a gym.

If it's prision make it prison. 23 hrs a day in a 8x8 cell, no creature comforts given. Maybe make it so they can earn comforts. Like you dont cause trouble for a year and we'll give you an extra hour a day of exercise or something. But my guess is some people think that would be a violation of the prisoners rights.

a penatly were people can get a college education at taxpayer expense or work out in the gym all day at taxpayer expense isn't really a penalty. Knowing you're going to die at the stroke of midnight because you murdered someone is a penalty.

Gov. Jon S. Corzine signed into law Monday a measure that abolishes the death penalty, making New Jersey the first state in more than four decades to reject capital punishment.

The bill, approved last week by the state's Assembly and Senate, replaces the death sentence with life in prison without parole.

Thoughts? (liberals suck right?) :-)
