The sad thing is that the "rag heads" seem to know exactly how to play us - and we react with pavlovian predictability. Bin Laden wanted the Middle East to explode in a conflict where moderates are driven into one extremist camp or another - either for protection or revenge - and we accomodated him, taking out his enemy Saddam. Bin Laden clearly has an interest in the US not summoning up the resources it would take to really control the Middle East and crack down on extremists - which would require either a huge wave of new recruits - or a draft - to be able to put a few hundred thousand more boots on the ground. And a followup attack on America would have produced exactly that. I've always wondered why four years ago, when we were about to invade Iraq, Bush never used the moment to appeal to the young people of America directly to enlist, and to Congress to support a massive troop buildup. At that time, before the stories of IEDs and snipers and suicide bombers started appearing, he could probably have encouraged a huge upswell in enlistment. But he didn't, for some reason.

User Details are only visible to members.	My problem is not in Larkin's "free speech" right to say this., I support his right and I am glad he is ex;osed for what many of us already knew. To me it reflects many problems with the so called unbiased media. 1. Larkin is NBC's primary "Military News Analyst". 2. As a Military News Analyst he is supposed to report Military News from an objective position, NOT a biased subjective or one sided position 3. Larkin calls our troops mercenaries - Bias 4. Larkin says are troops are basically stupid and don't even realize they are misled - bias, elitist bias 5. Larkin makes claims that lead many readers to believe are troops are swimming in money and benefits when they are not - bias 6. Larkin makes the claim that our troops are enjoying "obscene amenities", yet can not give and specifics - bias 7. Larkin claims three fourths of America is against the War VERSUS the way the war is being fought. New Independent polls that are asking questions concerning strategy are finding approximate one half of Americans that disapprove of how the War is going, think we are fighting the war "politically correct" or too "soft". Many Americans do NOT believe that we should retreat or get out. Larkin fails to mention that - bias. 6. Larkin and his far left loons use the "free speech" motto as the "catch all" to protect what they write and say, but in his own article he thinks the troops should be told to shut the hell up and not say what they think - ELITITIST bias. I am glad that Larkin wrote this article and I am glad that many at NBC defended him. It exposes, on a more obvious level, the hatred that reporters like Larkin have for our Troops and any leadership that does not conform to their belief system. I hope Larkin and others like him continue to expose themselves for what the truly are - bias agenda driven socialist and communist loving elitist.

Then, implore the masses to call on the large corporations (GE) to quell the media (NBC) and free speech. The antics of some people never cease to amaze me. The reference to O'reilly being the bastion of freedom here makes it all the more bizarre.
