Remember there was a loooooooooong thread in which two or three of the more LOW INFORMATION posters claimed they had "PROOF" that the states with the most leaneant gun laws were the LEAST violent? Remember John Lott's debunked report on "More guns= Less crime" Looks like both have just crashed and burned...again

I don't favor "gun control"

I favor the the implementation of the 2nd amendment as written..."well rgulated" and all.

And that is why you will blow any advantage we gain. Like a child given money from their parents, you will waste it on the first shinny thing you see. In your case, gun control.

"It doesn't matter what statistics you can present"

Sorry Robert, but when you begin a post with a statement like that, it makes anything else you say beyond that moot and non credible. The point is, "more guns =less crime" is a myth, and these stats, along with scores of other studies, proves that.

In America in this 21st Century, the control of weapons ownership and possesion should be a primary function of the Department of Homeland Security and the National Guard.

In mu opinion, weapons ownership should be one of the primary functions of the Weekend Warrior National Guard.

Oh, and if you go just on homicide, the story changes substantially. Take what you will from it.

Too bad no responsible journalists thought to include DC in their list.

Here's your entire list. Formatting is shitty, sorry. Rank, State/area, rate/100,000.

Surprise! DC is #1 by a country mile. Some might feel its inclusion is unfair since it's 100% urbanized, but, c'est la vie. Down near the bottom are the tightly-regulated states of Virginia and Wyoming.

But it's always fun to see people cherry pick the numbers they want and try to make their point from it.....

Party:

It doesn't matter what statistics you can present. Other than mental health being a factor for weapon background checks, there is no law which ought be made right now for gun control.

3d printing will make plastic parts for weapons, 3d metal printing (what is up and coming right now) will make the metal parts.

It is well beyond time to start attacking the root causes of violence, gangs and the general decay of society... Poverty and wage inequality. The republicans are committing actions which will lead to this, we thank them for this gift... DON'T FUCK IT UP WITH GUN CONTROL!!!!!!!!!
