User Details are only visible to members.	perfect I would agree with you but in other words. We have a poor people problem and many of them are black. it is also a cultural thing. These poor people have their own private local cultures and almost exclusively kill others within their culture. It is wrong, it is sad, but it is true. The answer to this is not to punish the other 95% of our citizens. The answer is to fix the problems that exist in these poor areas. That does include changing those local cultures that seem to glorify the violence and death. It means convincing these people to leave that culture and go to opportunities in other places. I listen to people on the news, read what they have to say, and try and understand why they are still there. I get a picture of people standing knee deep in the blood of their children singing the victim song who absolutely refuse to leave to find better things for themselves and their families. I would spend every waking minute of ever day figuring a way out of that hell. I truly do not understand the continued waiting for the government to fix things. They haven't fixed it yet so don't hold your breath.

Despite a corrupt mainstream media that refuses to highlight this predominant social plague, the statistics are irrefutable: Blacks commit an excessively disproportionate number of crimes in comparison to other races. And many of these crimes are black on white. According to a 2005 Justice Department report entitled “Criminal Victimization in the United States,” black men raped 37,460 white women, while white men raped less than ten black females, for example. Blacks murder whites at a rate 18 times higher than whites murder blacks. A 2005 report published by the New Century Foundation called “The Color of Crime” took these trends a step further: • Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery. • Blacks are three times more likely than non-blacks to use a gun in a crime. • Blacks commit 75% of all interracial crimes; whites commit 15%; while others account for 10%. • Blacks are seven times more likely to be imprisoned than whites. To gauge these numbers, although blacks only comprise 13% of the U.S. population compared to whites at 65%, in 2010 blacks committed more murders (5,890) than whites (5,286). In this context, it’s not surprising that over 10% of all black males aged 25-65 currently reside in prison. That figure is a mere 1.4% for whites.

User Details are only visible to members.	Nke: Believe it or not, gun violence is only a single string to the problem with both the lower quality of life in the US and the higher violent death rate. This is why I demand a National Mental health system be started. One which all Americans may take advantage of and use. One in which those who are violent or act out violently at work or home maybe forced to undergo evaluations to determine their mental state. (more to this then just these two aspects) With all of the data we would collect from such a undertaking... (basically a national study of the population which either willingly self reports or acts out violently (verbally or physically)) Would result in having evidence to how the more harsh you make society, the more violent society becomes and the more afraid society becomes. As with any dog beaten, as with any child abused by parents, they will become afraid of everything.... Excessively skittish and requiring additional levels of security blankets. This is what a fire arm to the NRA and their ilk is. It is their security blanket from a society which abused them, which allowed abuses to come to pass against them... They are afraid and that is why I do not close my profile off from them, it is why I refrain from name calling, it is why I refrain as best as I can from direct attacks on any one persons character unless they directly deserve it. I understand their fear, I understand where it comes from... Sadly unlike me, these rightist have chosen to try and over compensate for their fear, their inadequates and in so doing, they stand to lose everything they want to retain.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, between 1976 and 2011, there were 279,384 black murder victims. Using the 94 percent figure means that 262,621 were murdered by other blacks. Though blacks are 13 percent of the nation's population, they account for more than 50 percent of homicide victims. Nationally, black homicide victimization rate is six times that of whites, and in some cities, it's 22 times that of whites. Coupled with being most of the nation's homicide victims, blacks are most of the victims of violent personal crimes, such as assault and robbery. The magnitude of this tragic mayhem can be viewed in another light. According to a Tuskegee Institute study, between the years 1882 and 1968, 3,446 blacks were lynched at the hands of whites. Black fatalities during the Korean War (3,075), Vietnam War (7,243) and all wars since 1980 (8,197) come to 18,515, a number that pales in comparison with black loss of life at home. It's a tragic commentary to be able to say that young black males have a greater chance of reaching maturity on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan than on the streets of Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, Newark and other cities.

WASHINGTON — The United States suffers far more violent deaths than any other wealthy nation, due in part to the widespread possession of firearms and the practice of storing them at home in a place that is often unlocked, according to a report released Wednesday by two of the nation's leading health research institutions. Gun violence is just one of many factors contributing to lower U.S. life expectancy, but the finding took on urgency because the report comes less than a month after the shooting deaths of 26 people at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. The United States has about six violent deaths per 100,000 residents. None of the 16 other countries included in the review came anywhere close to that ratio. Finland was closest to the U.S. ranking with slightly more than two violent deaths per 100,000 residents. For many years, Americans have been dying at younger ages than people in almost all other wealthy countries. In addition to the impact of gun violence, Americans consume the most calories among peer countries and get involved in more accidents that involve alcohol. The U.S. also suffers higher rates of drug-related deaths, infant mortality and AIDS. The result is that the life expectancy for men in the United States ranked the lowest among the 17 countries reviewed, at 75.6 years, while the life expectancy for U.S. women ranked second lowest at 80.7 years. The countries reviewed included Canada, Japan, Australia and much of Western Europe. The nation's health disadvantages have economic consequences. They lead to higher costs for consumers and taxpayers as well as a workforce that remains less healthy than that of other high-income countries. "With lives and dollars at stake, the United States cannot afford to ignore this problem," said the report from the National Research Council and the Institute of Medicine.
