Minimum wage jobs are typically taken by the young, people between jobs, and those who are "problem employees". Problem employees as I define them include those who are habitually late/miss work for lame ass reasons, think they know more than their managers, are incapable of following directions, are untrainable, have bad attitudes toward their job, continually "screw up" their work, apply minimum effort, etc., etc.

The total number of people and % of prople working minimum wage is very small compared to the total number of all employed people. The jobs are typically in the service industry.

Many states have minimum wages above the Federal wage level.

Look up the statistics at the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. I believe it's part of the Department of Labor and Industry...?

VA:

A taker? Please tell me, what have I taken from you?

I haven't once collected a welfare, food stamp or other social welfare program check.

I have in point of fact stated that the very existence of such programs ought to be an insult and sign of the failure of you businessmen. The failure that you refuse to accept as a sign that you have not spoken to the hearts and minds of the people you are allowed to lead by having or commanding the wealth you do.

Wealth is power and with power comes the responsibility to use it. This is why throughout history, men of wealth and power have been the first hung by the angry mobs that these leaders failed to control, failed to provide for... Generally and in all manners of the word, failed the people.

It isn't I who has taken a thing from anyone, it is you who has, wants to and continues to support those who have taken from the greater whole that is the American tax payer.

You do this by not slamming the businessmen who do not pay a wage which grows the economy. To pay oneself a wage which allows them to live comfortably, while their employees are on the governments time (and thus taking from others for that dime) that employer has chosen to steal from you, his wealth is built upon the wealth that the government must take from you and give to the starving masses... Least they repeat most every revolution which ends with the blood of the business leaders and politicians who failed the people.

The government isn't your enemy, it is your guardian angel, preventing the masses from taking something you can't get back, taking the heads of those who would take from the masses and give nothing in return.

Minimum wage = minimum effort.

The lazy, the uneducated and the unmotivated are not to be blamed, it is the rich who fail to understand what would energize the lazy, how to educate the uneducated and how to motivate the unmotivated.

This isn't a language barrier which money can solve, it is a language barrier can only be solved by learning to understand the people... Something you have not done nor desire to do, because you think yourself above the people.

For this, you hasten the end of the US and your own way of life.

I can only lead people who are willing to listen and learn, Robert. You are not one of them. You are a taker, and an ungrateful one at that.

I swear if I told you that just over that hill there was a spring that would prevent you from dying of thirst, you'd instead waste your last 10 cc of body fluid spewing crap at me about why you can't do it.

Understand that I have never asked for, nor wanted people's pity.

I explained to you people where I came from because there are millions of your countymen who come from the same place and you failed them.

As a businessman, you chose to become a leader. A leader doesn't leave their people to fend for themselves, because when they do, the people turn to a new leader.

You businessmen could set youselves up as powerful people with the loyalty of the people, but instead you choose to be plantation owners of the pre-civil war era. Rehashing statements expressed by the plantation owners about the right to property and your wealth.

Guess what? You are allowed that wealth, to generate it only to lead the people to prosperity and a stable future.

You failed to do this because we have turned to more socialist ideals, we had need of social welfare.

When the people turn to big government to feed and cloth them, you the businessmen have failed.

I don't pity (piety?) you any more. You deserve your unhappiness. Enjoy.

Fruits of your labor are on the backs of minimum wage workers who provide you cheap goods. Those minimum wage earners aren't contributing to the wealth of this nation, and the very fact the they are paid so poorly is the very reason you are taxed so highly.

So save the piety me crap. Your (high) tax rate is caused by your desire to have or to enable other greedy people to employ people at a rate below that which contributes to the betterment of society.

We don't need no edication. We don't need no wage control No dark sarcasm in the fora Robert leave these topics alone Hey! Robert! Leave them topics alone!

I just couldn't make the last line work.

Robert, I've tried with you. I've tried so hard. Even people who are completely at the other end of the political spectrum are frustrated from your constant victimhood and all your reasons why you can't.

I would wish you success, but your concept of "success" is finding a way to steal the fruit of my labor out of some sense of righting all of the wrongs done to you. So please, stay in Hazleton.

Fjep:

You might want to talk with big about that.

He brags about not finishing the 9th grade, and being forced to work hard his entire life.

Oh and my failure is the fact I chose the wrong field... Because I was never properly educated to choose a career field and told to accept scraps. I refuse to accept scraps and work hard for minimum wage.

Hard work is what the employee rewards a employer with and the employer is to reward good work with good pay. That was the check and balance that made this nation strong, we lost it when we allowed greedy men to send the jobs to the third world.

Bobby most members here are far, far better educated than you ever will be. The right on this forum NEVER have said they made it without a education. What they have pointed out is someone with ambition, drive, and a will to succeed can without college.

Your failure is not due to your education, it is due to you being lazy.
