Original Starting post for this thread:
A to B logic.

If we the people (A) have elected leaders who for the last hundred years been liberal. (Breaking up the rober barons) then. We the people demand socialist things.

This is reflected in our economics. (B) Wall Street not only is directly supported and subsadized by the US government. (This being the mix of government and economics and we call this socialism) but indirectly by the way of social welfare.

So in this simple example A=B

Conservatives however argue to remove government from business and to let business rise and fall on its own merits. (Call this A)

Yet conservatives demand social welfare. The very businesses receiving subsadized workers are against government programs which are voted for by the left. (B)

In this case, conservative logic fails as their equation is the following. A=\=B or A is not equal to B

But if history proves the trend to socialism through liberal agendas, the trend is set by our history and the conservatives are attempting to block history. Ulitamently repeating the history of a empire known as Rome. (A)

Wealthy Romans shipped jobs to the third world. Bought cheap Chinese junk and demanded less in taxation. (B)

So in effect the conservatives are in fact A=B... So long as we are willing to accept living like the Turkish live and living next door to their world nations...

Logic failure resolved. Please return to your daily activities.

It looks like someone is trying out what they've been learning in their college math class. Good for them, but...

Lord help us all when they get to imaginary numbers.

Many who sit on the school board are related to the city council. The school board also has little to fear as most people who are educated, leave hazleton rather than trying to beat a dead horse.

The city tried a scolarship program to keep college educated students to return... High school graduates said no thanks, well take the loans and not be tied to a dying city.

Like incest destroying the genetics of each generation, hazleton is dying. Too many in positions of power remain so and when they leave power or rise to the next ring, their kids who couldn't leave hazleton take those positions.

To put it another way, hazleton and its surrounding areas are a sinkin ship and the bilg pumps are broken.

The key Robert is that you said when "a parent", this would be the issue. If parents(plural) show up at the board meetings and cannot get resolution to an issue, then those same parents can change the board members via the board elections. Most counties have elections for the board members and a screening and hiring process for the Superintendent, not sure of this is the case for Hazelton. At a minimum, the contracts within the school district are funded by voted tax addendums to the annual elections which have to added to ballots and approved by a city or county council which is elected ( two more opportunities to vote ) and in this way, parents can control what happens by controlling who is in charge of things, if not the actual school board, then at least the purse strings.

I agree, the involvement of the child's first teachers, (parents) are invaluable. If there isn't any involvement, the child will run wild and never learn enough to be productive and the school will not know of individual learning needs of each child.

Sadly the school district where I live is a single district for all of hazleton, west hazleton, hazle township, eagle rock, Freeland, and a dozen or so smaller communities within 15 miles of hazleton.

All 3,500 to 4,000 high school student go to one high school. I do not have numbers for jr. High or elementary school students, but I think we have 3 jr. High schools left and six elementary schools.

If a parent brings up an issue at a school board meeting and their view isn't in suppor of what the district desires to do, they are ordered to leave the meeting.

Oh and school bussing? Yeah, the guy who owns the busses, he is on the school board. The barletta family use to supply the school district it's coal for heating and had a family member seated on the board too.

Small town politics, it is more incestrial than a Greek or roman drama.

Where I live, you basically have 3 school districts. One school districts get tons of money (20 % more than the other two) and has only one school out of 6 passing AYP standards, the second district (the one I choose for my children)has one high school and is a giant school where often the class size makes it hard to get personal attention when there is an issue. This school passes AYP standards, but barely. The third school district has multiple schools all of which pass AYP standards and gets even less money than the second school and this money is further divided among the different schools within the district. All three of these schools have roughly the same governmental standards and enforcements. The first school district chooses to spend most of its money on highly educated professors and doctors who hold high level degrees in education and child psychology but fill positions such as guidance counselors and vice principals ( one school has 4? vice principals?), none of which actually teach anything, they just make arbitrary rules and policies that others must enforce. The second school district chooses to spend its money ensuring the teachers are all annually tested and qualified to teach, as well as a review of student performance to make sure that teachers can actually convey that knowledge ( the reason I chose this district for my kids), they also enforce school regulations on the kids by ensuring the KIDS take responsibility for the actions they choose. The third district has the highest AYP scores and more importantly, the most parent involvement. This I think is the key to it all. Parent involvement ensures that any rules the district wishes to implement is fully understood by everyone it impacts. It also gives parents the chance to interact with teachers outside the classroom and learn about their children's performance and behavior from a perspective other than the child's. The point I am trying to make is more money fixes nothing, smart use of the money you have and being involved fixes everything.

Where did I state that I wish to be a slave owner? I in fact have stated that I want to empower the workers to have more say in their lives by way of unions.

A employer (one man or small number of men) own their employees through wages paid and thus are the slave owners. It is an illusion and really a dillusion to say to get another job someplace else.

That phrase was popular among rober barons and their supporters because they knew that they controlled the employment through monopolies and today Walmart and Wall Street are the monopolies.

Walmart and Sam club are the same store.

Giant food is allied with wise's, Thomas and IGA.

All of these major and regional stores have near to the same wages, working conditions and all pay a wage below poverty, a wage which requires the US government to provide (at your expense) social welfare.

If cosco were near by, I would go there. They pay their employees a starting wage of 12.00 an hour or more, plus other benefits. Sadly the market here is too saturated with subsadized labor jobs that cosco couldn't open here, even if they wanted to.

So save the slave owner crap for the employers who pay a wage which requires the government to subsadize wages and tax you for the welfare. Those employers aren paying the tax, they get it as a write off or simply raise the cost of their products. Why? Because you won't enable the government to bring the hurt onto bad businessmen who are raping you of your money.

So your idea of a perfect society is to be a slave owner and force society to relent to your needs and wants. Then blame the government for failing to do your bidding.

Robert, you want better education, go to a school board meeting and propose solutions to your schools problems, even better run for a seat on your local BOE and change the system. You want better government go to a town meeting as citizen and propose solutions that work for everyone. Again use your values and run for a seat on your towns governing body. Use your voice to change your local government to the better for all your citizens.

You and every other citizen has the same chance to change the system of government on the second Tuesday of every November. Use that chance to better your and every other citizen in your community. Of course if your not interested in bettering your community then don't tell others how to run it your way.

Lol, first I don't have a relationship because I don't have a professional career. Women worth considering settling down with wont consider dating (wasting their time) with someone who doesn't have a professional career.

I have no right to such a relationship until I can provide for no less than 2 kids plus a wife, again... Professional career and be a father full time. (That means I am home every night or see my kids daily for more than a passing comment, but rather being able to sit down with each and have a conversation)

Lastly, each of my college professors have already said the I am we'll read and that my in class discussions do explore the other sides view point, without losing track if my values.

Just because I don't accept your views, doesn't mean that I don't see things from yor perspectives. I do understand your perspectives and in most cases catagorically dismiss them as not useful for building a more civilized society based upon building people other than ourselves up.

This means making our working environments better, a return to fourth hour work weeks and wages which keep all employees off the government dime.

This means making our cities safer by reeducation and if need be, reprogramming our criminals before releasing them onto the streets.

This means fixing our education system so to educate the kids wanting to be educated, fixing or enabling mentally damaged kids to learn and to put disruptive students into a program that makes them want to be in the classroom learning. (Forcing a suspended or expelled child to clean up urnals and mop floors for 40 hours a week is a good start... But they are paid half wages as the state must be paid for the cost of the program)

If you aren't fixing society without a whip, your ideals aren't of value to a civilized society.

You know Mickey, It's really funny that his ego is so inflated that he can't think rationally. His logic and thought process never is able to see both sides of any issue. Once he makes his snap decision he will not deviate from it and will argue his decision and never waver.

A few thoughts about his logic and thought process.

He's not married and has no relationship prospects. He has no relationship other then the impersonal Internet. He has no way to relate to others. His only social contact is with others at work and as a security guard barely communicates with others. His logic and relationship experience doesn't give him a way to show emotion to any woman he meets.

At 30 yrs. old he's lived almost half of his life and has no lasting prospects of finding a woman to enjoy the rest of his life.

Put yourself in his position, he has no emotional contact with any one to grow with.
