While the right would have everyone who is afraid of everyone else shivering under a blanket when they are without a gun. Sure the passive defense ideas suck and are about as useful as spit balls to stop a tank. But they aren't meant to do much more than be inconvenance. The problem with allowing people in high density areas to go around armed is that you must deal with all kinds of people... Many of whom look like people you wouldn't want to be alone with. That is why we are a pack animal. A species which firms tribes and groups for security. That is why when we don't fit into society, we form gangs and when the gangs have no responsible and mature guidance... The gangs become violent. More guns aren't the solution. Mace would be a far better solution for college campuses... A far more effective weapon than a whistle or vomit at the very least and it isn't deadly (in almost every case) it can even be attached to ones key chain so when attacked in the parking lot, you can spray them and use your keys to slash their eyes out. (blinded hostiles aren't a threat.)

Dems insisted Akin was the spokesman for the entire GOP, Team Obama recruited Sandra Fluke to fund-raise off of his remarks, and lefties targeted Akin with oh-so-civil rape wishes. But when "genius" Colorado Democrat Joe Salazar insisted hysterical womenfolk can’t be trusted to accurately identify a rape threat, much less fend one off with anything more powerful than a 9mm whistle? Crickets from the For the Women™ crowd. Perhaps they agree with Salazar: It’s not “rape-rape” until a male Dem gives his stamp of approval, you dumb broads. And when the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs issued tips for “passive resistance” to rape, like on-demand vomiting and fake menstruation? Chirp, chirp, chirp.
