They didn't do their civic duty to prevent Hamas from gaining control and as a result are counted amongst those who willingly gave control to Hamas. That is the price of not voting, that is the price of doing nothing.

But I have known plenty of Christians who say with a polite smile that anyone who does not accept Christ as a personal savior is doomed to eternal damnation. We could go through other religions and sects and find the same kind of superiority attitude in many. In most cases, it is only zealots who believe this nonsense, and they always give rise to straw man arguments and silly over-generalizations like you have exhibited here. PP, you are uninformed about the people of Gaza choosing Hamas. Hamas won the election because like many other extremists groups, they were highly disciplined and tightly controlled the candidates so that only one ran in any region. Fatah spit the majority vote and the extremists took over completely. More Gazans likely died from Hamas' violent overthrow of Fatah than from both Israeli invasions post-Sharon. Hamas has not allowed an election since. PP's contention that the Jewish diaspora was not descended from the middle east is just silly. The historical record is clear. I wonder where he thinks they came from. Did European serfs decide to convert? Ha ha ha.

User Details are only visible to members.	As far as settlements are concerned. While I do not support expansion in the West Bank. I always wonder pre Six Day war there were no settlements. But terror was alive and well. Why? Robert is correct when he states that, the Palestinians have to prove that peace is in their forefront, by electing Hamas in a free democratic election the people spoke. The anti Israel groupies who apologize on behalf of terrorists will never tell you that the charter of Hamas calls for the death of the 'Yehuds.' It does not advance their agenda.

Everything that has happened to the Palestinians has been a result of their own arrogance which is traced back to and is only important upon the date of Israel's second establishment was. 1948. If the Palestinians and Arabs chose peace, they very well likely would have had a nation... But they chose war. When you want to be a brute.... You don't get to make excuses for your continued violence... You don't have a excuse worthy of being listened to. They had a chance for a peaceful two state solution and chose war. Before I will support any pressure to be placed upon Israel, the Palestinians MUST prove that they can control their own nation by controlling their own radicals. This means no more missiles launches, no more suicide bombers, no more religious leaders preaching for war against Israel. It means real meaningful acts by the Palestinians to show that they are sorry for their acts of arrogance sense the creation of Israel. Then and only then should we say anything against Israel for defending itself against the terrorist that the Palestinian people support with inaction.

The people elected Hamas because they perceived they were the most capable of protecting them from daily airstrikes with cluster bombs. The US once occupied most of Western Europe, should we be evicting Germans to create settlements in Hamburg? Didn't we live on the verge of Nuclear war for 4 decades because the USSR occupied eastern Europe? Is japan the 51st American state? Again....Israel exists because of a UN mandate, they WILL behave like a member of the world community, there free pass is over with

I can understand his angst about the Israelis exerting their superiority over the Palestinians in so many ways. But to portray the Palestinians as historical victims in this conflict is utterly laughable. Fatah lost Gaza to Hamas. Hamas has never allowed another election. The Pals are victims of one government that is and always has been deeply corrupt and another government that is purely extremist. One man, one vote, one time. This is the reality of the new Middle East.
