Maybe a round of psychological testing is in order?

Strange...I'm finding myself agreeing to most of what tbr's saying. This is a strange world. Scotty and e..r, tbr and me.

Very strange, indeed.

rather keep what's mine. maybe it would be easier to stomach pay 1/3 to the govt if they didn't give it to lazy people and illegals.

I guess it is all in how you look at it.

I thought the question at hand was is 500K annually enough to make you wealthy. I would say it makes you rich, but not wealthy. For me, wealthy is in the number of investments that you have that make money. But 500K puts you well within the top one percent. And most people would call you at least rich with that kind of money.

And it is like Pete says. Would you rather keep 2/3 of 500K or all of 20K?

185k puts you into the top 5% tbr. What's the point? and whats the point of working hard to have to give half to the govt. they didn't earn it I did. 10% is more than enough.

Should be a flat tax. or a consmption tax.

500K would put you well into the top one percent of income earners.

Most other people in the country would consider you wealthy.

four million is a decent sized portfolio. 500k just isn't alot of money even annually. When i say wealthy i mean people with 1.5 million and up in AGI.
