Certain Repuglic-thug Party voices ascribed the the voice of the oil industry, which wanted to run a pipeline from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico through more than a few American states, even though mor oil-drilling excursions in the Gulf had been capped or scrapped by those with existing oil-exploration licenses.

The Pledge is that kind of farce. Those who 'pledge' to a god could be agreeing to injustice and slavery in the name of some anti-American billionaire corporation's natural resource greed.

I don't see anyone disputing how the pledge was adopted, or proposing that it be changed by autocratic fiat. I see a question posed in the OP and adults offering a wide variety of different views about it. That kind of discussion is the hallmark of a free democracy and should be valued.

I stand by my statement.
