whoa ying yang! Good looking out for personal responsibility! I'm sick and tired of hearing of a poor young black man being "railroaded by the system". As I said before his stupid ass probably would have wound up on the internet and fucked up his future all by his little ole self. The fact that he and his friends chose to dog out those girls and film it, I have a hard time feeling too sorry for this guy. I hope he gets out of jail, but he did this to himself.

Ya'll I have to recant my statement concerning the case, It seems that the video tape does indeed show that the 17 y/o was a participant in the sexual activities based on the video which does show her supporting her weight during one sexual position. This also demonstrates her being conscious. If she willingly consumed drugs and alcohol and the got engaged in these acts then she is no victim. So it does seem that Wilson may only be guilty of just being an stupid idiot who probably would have had his chances at any kind of scholarship taken away anyway if this video had found it's way to the internet, which it probably will. My apologies to Mr. Wilson. I admit I was wrong regarding that issue. However It would be nice to find a source that can give you some straight facts regarding the video tape and what it shows.

If you read the post, I said that the incident involving the 15 y/o and Mr. Wilson was a "non-issue" with me. I was commenting on the 17 y/0 female who was also at the party and according to reports either unconscious or highly intoxicated. How could she consent to having sex with Mr. Wilson and his friends? I hope unless their are other facts that we have not been told concerning that part of the case, then I am inclined to believe that Mr. Wilson and his friends had their way with this girl without her consent. This sets a precedent concerning sexual consent regarding drunk or unconscious females at parties. I am surprised that this isn't being discussed more, rather Genarlow is being made to look like a virtual saint who did nothing wrong. I have yet to hear a good explanation of what happened with the 17 y/o girl who claims she was raped.

wait, it was an injustice how? because he did not get sentenced long enough. i am confused (easily). there was a whole thread on this case in the open forum and i believe the general opinion was that it was ridiculous that a 17yr could be prosecuted for having sex with a 15 yr old.

also, i am not sure your recitiation of the facts are correct..

When he was a senior in high school, he received oral sex from a 10th grader. He was 17. She was 15. Everyone, including the girl and the prosecution, agreed she initiated the act. But because of an archaic Georgia law, it was a misdemeanor for teenagers less than three years apart to have sexual intercourse, but a felony for the same kids to have oral sex.

Note I did not mention the 15 y/o and the bj, I'm referring specifically to the matter regarding the 17 y/o girl who said that he and his friends raped her at the same "party". From what I understand she immediately told her parents and contacted the police after the incident. Her story remained consistent throughout trial and the video shows an either unconscious or highly intoxicated young girl with several men having their way with her. I have not been able to see the tape only here analysis of it, I am not sure if the public can view the tape because it may be consider child porn. The only defense that I have heard concerning that matter was from the defense attorney for Genarlow Wilson. She just kept saying that the Jury chose not to convict and that we should accept the verdict as the truth. I think that rational is bullshit and I would like a better explanation as to why a group of males having a gang bang with an unconscious teen would not be considered rape?

Ya know as a black man in America, I can say with all honesty if this was a white 17 y/o having sex with a unconscious or intoxicated black girl, he would be called a rapist by the black community, especially if there was a video tape showing a limp black girl being dragged to the bathroom to have sex with his buddies. I really don’t care too much about the sentence, I’m more concerned about how we as a community keep making excuses for young black men who do these type of things to women. R Kelly comes to mind. He still receives tremendous support from the Black Community after Urinating on an underage black girl. It’s hard for me to understand why we are not more critical of Young Black men who degrade young women and as a consequence further racist stereotypes of young black men being sex starved fiends, whom you should hide your young daughters from. Are their any black mothers who would not say that their child was raped had she been that 17 y/0 “having sex” in the video? Perhaps those officers who beat Rodney King were “innocent” too?

BTW it's good to be back ya'll.
