"“[Chavez] is simply using our country to create a capitalist boogieman to scare his people into supporting him.”

Bush gives us the “axis of evil.” Yes?"

So you're sayin that Iran & North Korea are not real threats?

"Sounds more than alittle like George W. Bush."

So you're sayin tha Chavez & GWB are the same type of people with the same principles, values, tactics, and agendas?

I can only go by what the man goes out and says to the world. He wants to build allainces and hender our interests. He never said anything about our interests conflicting each other, he is simply using our country to create a capitalist boogieman to scare his people into supporting him. Give them medicine, food, and security and they will give you their hearts and minds without questioning your methods. This seems to be a trend when in comes to self described Socialist Leaders.

What exactly are his grievances? It seems that just about every Leftist dictator has a problem with our form of government from the get go. Some how I think the past relationship of the U.S. government and this man is a bit more complicated than us just deciding to pick on him. We do agree that he is really a dictator right? He may have been democratically elected but I don't see him leaving office voluntarily. It's unfortunate but poor countries seem to often be willing to trade personal freedom for a safty net government run by a dictator. I just don't see his citizens gaining a successful future from his dictatorship.

So we just accept this? Or strongly compete for our own interests? See I believe that we should compete. And if someone seeks to actively undermine us we do the same to him. Chavez makes not bones about it, he wants to undermine us. Wether you think he has a right or a point, doesn't really matter. What matters is if one United States citizen loses a job or some other opportunity because of this man's actions and effort, then we should seek counter his policies. I'm in this for our country and ours alone.

Curious you should be grateful that people who think as you do don't protect this country from threats. I know I am......

But this Chavez guy most people agree then that he's all talk and has no real means to hurt our interests? See I'm not one of those people who thinks that it's "OK" to hurt our interests because we are the Big Bad USA and we can take a little abuse. I want us to be as successful as possible and to win more often than lose. And if Chavez is trying to make us lose anything, then we should do the same to him. Somehow I think that there might have been a good reason for us trying to depose him......I don't think that we turned him into a leftist dictator, he obviously had these feeling toward us for a long time.

I agree with Joe on this one! Chavez has stated his intentions to weaken us and he has also said recently that he's probably going to make himself "President for Life". He is a leftist dictator, plain and simple!

"Are you unable to infer an answer to your question from that?"

Are you unable to directly answer a direct question? Are you unable to infer what I've inferred?

"What tactics are those? Whining that someone's picking on me?"

I did not whine that you were pickin on me, I asked you if you were. It was an honest question followed by a question mark, which by the way, you never answered. Do you honestly not know the difference between a statement and a question?
