If Akron told me that I would call him on it. If Perfect told me that I would call him on it. If Dejack told me that I would call him on it. However, I would not expect you to call them on it if they are insulting me. I can defend my own positions and take care of myself. Do you get the difference. However, I did defend you a few days ago and you posted that you did not want my support. Have you ever thought that Akron, Perfect and others sometimes defend or "call you on it" about another poster, because of a thing called respect? If you don't get that on your own, I can not explain it to you.

User Details are only visible to members.	maryk, Damn....you had many of the same views of the questions as I did. The only one you did not address that I will, is the Death Penalty question. I answered "some deserve it" even though I am against the Death Penalty. However, I am against the death penalty not because of the opposite answer "It is Inhuman", but for pragmatic reasons. I believe some people deserve the death penalty, but because we as human make mistakes, I believe the death penalty should not be used. You cannot bring someone back if it is discovered we made a mistake.

"the health care question was too vague, I think everyone has a right to emergency health care, but people shouldn't have a free pass to go the doctor for every little pain;" This is a place where there is actually can be a massive difference even among conservatives. If your concern as a conservative is forcing people to take responsibility, you provide the minimal amount of support your ethics will allow (eg - only help out when it's a true emergency). If your concern as a conservative is economics, you want people to go to the doctor with a lot of those little pains, because there can be a few orders of magnitude increase in cost in treating those little pains when by being ignored they turn into emergencies. I see the big divide between true liberals and true conservatives on domestic issues thusly - a true conservative believes that people should be responsible for themselves, or should rely on non-governmental networks for support; a true liberal believes that society has a responsibility to care for people who can't care for themselves, and that this care can only be guaranteed through government involvement.

This is the adminstration who presented Medals of Freedom to Tenet (CIA director who failed to prevent 9/11; and the man who will have "slam dunk" in every obituary when he dies) - and original Coalition Provisional Authority head Paul Bremmer, the man whose massive incompetence was instrumental in creating the hell-hole that is Iraq today. You have to either assume the Bush Administration likes to reward incompetence - or that their metrics are far different than most of ours. If the goal for Iraq had been a violent sectarian chaos forcing America to spend an additional trillion dollars on the military, it's hard to imagine a better CIA head, CPA leader, and SecDef than Tenet, Bremmer, and Rumsfeld. Hmmm.....

Wolf Blitzer asks Cheney about it - giving Cheney the perfect national platform for attacking Focus on the Family as a bunch of intolerant bigots who should butt out of his family's personal life. Cheney attacks Blitzer, instead.
